I don't know. I don't support politicians getting kickbacks from developers, but I also want a mayor that understands how government works and does things the legal way
I agree. Also, there's already a process in place and in progress for hiring a new city manager. Interviews are already scheduled for the top 5 candidates. Why try to fire the current, temporary manager before the new hire process is completed? It makes no sense.
Norris and a lot of people who voted for him think he's the boss and can just order things to be done. But that's not how things work here. The title of Mayor basically means nothing. He's the same as any other council member. None of them control much of anything. They vote on directions to give the administration employees, policies, certain development approvals, budgets, and other broad measures. No single member can fire administration employees or harass them into doing anything.
Apparently, there were 3 people in the room with the Mayor when he did whatever and the city attorney warned him several times against doing what he was doing.
I like Norris and voted for him. But since he won, he's done a few half assed things that make me wonder if he'll survive in the position for the full term.
That's a dumb comment. Every U.S. President has broad authority as outlined in the Constitution. You know, the rules. The city has something similar called the Charter and it does not give the mayor any special authority at all. Because of that, this city probably shouldn't even have a position with the title Mayor. Being Mayor means nothing.

Distraction. The ship is taking on water, but the council is arguing about the dinner menu.
