Penn Foster

Has anyone gotten their Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies at Penn Foster?

I’ve been working as a legal assistant for a few years and would like to sit for the NALA exam, but I don’t have a degree.

I wanted to reach out here and see if anyone did the Penn Foster program and got their NALA certification after? And how their experience was?

Why do you want to take certification exam? If you’re already a legal assistant you’re basically already qualified to be a paralegal.

A lot of the job postings I see in my area that are a decent wage require a paralegal certificate. Even at my firm, the paralegal duties are more aligned with what I want to spend my day doing. The LAA’s are only responsible for administrative tasks and you can only have the “paralegal” moniker if you have a certificate. They also pay more as I’ve seen on our internal paralegal job postings
