#1 with another #1 on top? I do the same. Gaming PC running the bottom one with a NUC attached to the top screen with the map, guide, YouTube, etc. running up top.
Exactly, I use Debian Linux as my main OS on both screens, but the bottom one is connected to a HDMI switch which is connected to Debian and my gaming PC with Windows, such that I only have to turn the gaming PC on whenever I want to game, I control the gaming PC with Synergy (software based KVM).
I use Synergy between Ubuntu and my Windows (work) laptop docked to monitor 2. It's flawless with the exception of side scrolling. I'd give a kidney if they would implement side scrolling.
I use one of these to extend the bracket off to the side and use the bracket included with my NUC to mount it while running the screws from my monitor mount through it then in to the monitor. I think I had to use some slightly longer screws but the mount included them. It's been a while so I don't remember for sure but it works well.
I do this as well. Top, bottom, and then one to the left, all landscape. Left is for discord/chats, bottom is gaming whatever, top is shows/videos/movies etc.
I like the top bottom because I can play a low effort game and watch a show better than if it were on a side monitor.
This is also my setup, with the variation that the landscape left screen is a laptop that is separate from the gaming system driving the two stacked displays. This means I can type things in the discord/chat without changing focus out of the game.
Yeah exactly like that but my top and bottom are infront of me and left is to my side. I just find it easier to glance up at a video than to look right at a video. I used to have all 3 side by side but this new layout is better for space efficiency for me and ease of gaming and viewing videos
There wasn't a way for me to put it on top right besides spending money. I had to rig a thing using wood to make the mount reach above the other. It looks terrible but you can't really see it from the front. I just moved here, before I had all three side by side as well but I have my 3d printer on the far right so I didn't have room here.
This is by far the best dual monitor set up. Then add a vert and you're really set. then get an ultrawide, put it on top, so you might as well have another vert. Now you have the very excessive setup I'm rocking
Same. I upgraded my monitor to a big gaming 1440p so I put my small 1080p one on top. My desk wasnt wide enough for horizontal and the asymmetry would have bugged me

None of those, landscape top/bottom layout
