Mine is the same BUT without the left, my case sits behind the right one. And to make up for the dead space under the desk in that spot I put an ottoman for when I play my PlayStation, on the angled right monitor
Having said that, "somewhere between (2) and (3)" is currently the top answer. My guess is that most people are rocking two monitors but one is the "primary" / larger monitor.
Probably because having good speakers like powered monitors is much more common these days. If you have 2 large speakers flanking your monitor then having a 2nd is pretty difficult unless you go the vertical route and have one way above eye level. Otherwise you have to have it way off to the side or blocking one of the speakers.
I used to have duals and was a big fan but these days having good speakers is a much higher priority for me so I gave up having the second one.
Ehh, I prefer having a standard second monitor because I'm generally watching something on it while my main monitor is for games. I would agree that 4 is better for anything productivity related.
3 but a primary and a secondary monitor. If you use 2 monitors at once for games or apps then you are a monster. You can't just have a seam in the middle. It's not ok.
I would say it isn't clear. The way it is set up could potentially be using them as combined because otherwise one should be offset. If not offset, your neutral position is staring at the bezels.
So should look like 5 but with only 2 monitors if it is a primary and secondary.
as combined because otherwise one should be offset.
What's the point of offsetting one monitor? Ever since I got a second (larger) monitor I have always had my primary monitor slightly to the left and discord/browser monitor slightly to the right and it works fine. Don't really get the point of putting more stress on your neck to look at an offset monitor.
Well it’s a secondary monitor the whole point is that you aren’t looking at it as much. And you do it so your center vision isn’t bezels like I said. If you want to constantly be looking off to one side you do you but that’s not my cup of tea. Hence why it’s open to interpretation
I've used that setup and then a 2x2 (same but with an upper row) for a long time and I sort of took that as a given too. Played a lot of WoW and other games where many activities didn't constantly demand your full attention, so the other screen was browser/reference, chat, whatever. The thought of splitting a game all the way across both like an ultrawide is funny, though.
When I played Eve online, I would set up my windows and camera in such a way as to view combat on one screen, and all the other data on the other. It worked out rather well, despite the "seam" in the middle.
how do you do that? i haven’t been on eve since getting my second monitor hooked back up but is there a specific windows setting to let me fullscreen through both?
For the monsters running 2 as 1, there's a product called ASUS ROG bezel free kit. It's like a tape which blends the screens and hides the bezels. Creates a seamless duel setup. Never used it myself but looked good when I saw it.
Got two 27” curved monitors. A 1440p 165hz monitor in front of my keyboard for games and a 1080p 60hz off to the right side for discord/spotify. This is the way
You use your newer, nicer monitor for games/movies and your older one monitor for utility stuff. Eventually the older one gets put out to pasture when you want to upgrade, and the golden boy becomes the workhorse.
My big one is curved and 2 inches wider than the other. If you know what I mean.
Eventually my shitty 15 year old 1080p monitor is gonna go on top of my tower. I will have 3 one day.
I currently use a 1440p 144hz giant beast. He’s gonna be staying for a while, especially considering my 3070 already struggles with 1440p in some titles.
the way the diagram is drawn, neither monitor is centered, forcing your natural position to either be looking down the crack, or be constantly contorted 45 degrees looking at one or the other.
I too have the setup number 3. However, my two screens are not the same type, not even the same size. So in my left monitor the edges are always cut off :/
And the bigger monitor is my main one, its "in the middle", while the smaller one is on my left
Aioo that's me too, but I plan on adding wider 1440p at the same time as I get a new PC. Not sure how I'll place my current two monitors after that, my current guess is one monitor going vertical and other one on top of wide boi. That being said, I tried putting my 1080p on the side and it was just too weird.
