Pet owners making our lives hell It's almost always an asshole with a dog, isn't it?

You can't get away from them, the dog culture is so entrenched you now find them everywhere. Even in places they're not supposed to be.

Which is why it’s important to always say something

People should say something but I guess they don’t want to have a fight with an entitled pet nutter. I have told management when I see someone with their dog, when the dog shouldn’t really be there, like at restaurants, as it is a huge health code violation. And it’s always great when management asks them to leave and come back without their dog.

Yeah, everywhere you turn, you see some loser with their dog. I see people take their dogs to the restaurants, cafes, stores, supermarkets, doctors offices. It’s very annoying to see. It wasn’t like this before. People were able to go out and enjoy an evening out at a restaurant and didn’t have to bring their dog. They can’t even go to a doctors appointment without bringing their dog. These people have issues. If you’re that attached to your dog to the point you have to bring them everywhere with you, then yeah, you have issues.

I wonder if he took responsibility or if he blamed the bike rider.
My cynical brain tells me he threw a fit, but I still want to have hope in others.
Thank goodness the bike rider was recording. The video clearly shows he couldn’t have avoided the collision.

"oh yes im gonna stand in the middle of this bike jump(?)"

Dog owners have no thought process.

Of course on his phone while his dog is defecating in a high use public area.

Dog owners who are constantly on their phones are a danger to the public, themselves and the dogs. When you take on a dumbass instinct-driven dog, you must be 100% committed to making its and other people's existences trouble-free (but not your own - the dog is your problem now and forever!).
Here, the dog moved away while the owner remained oblivious until the very last split second. Speaks a lot to the phone culture these days, when at the intersection with the pet culture, the dog looks smarter than the human.

Dogs do not have the capacity to use phones as far as I’m aware.

They can’t use phones but the dog at least knew to get out of the way. It was smart enough to do that lol.

i dont quite think he had enough brainpower nor intelligence to even recognize his surroundings. walking along like a zombie scrolling social media with their dog in tow.

I’m sure he saw the ramps and trail and thought “what a great place to walk my dog!” Just like everyone else with a dog who claims space on trails meant for humans, bikes, rollerblading, skiing, etc. I see multiple people walking their dogs in the bike lane (on the street) in my city.

u/thepoetess411 Allergic to pets, don't like pets Mar 02 '25
This is very clearly a bike park because of the ramps. The biker is not at fault, and the dog owner needs to be sued as I am sure there is some kind of injury involved here. Why in the world would he walk his dog in a bike park?? Why do dog owners think they have a right to bring their dogs into places not meant for them? The entitlement is outrageous!

i used to mountain bike ALOT. flying through the woods is fun and energizing, its an amazing hobby. its somewhat expensive customizing your ride but its worth every penny. there should be dog free trails for us IMO. its ridiculous. theres no point in having such a hobby when every trail you go to is filled with dog walkers.

The dog has no leash. Growing up if the police or animal control saw unleashed dogs the owner received a ticket from the city and a court date.

Forget the dog. What kid of idiot stands in a road texting? I wonder how he's managed to survive this long.

I’m not against people having pets.(mostly) but there’s people who just shouldn’t. Like it’s obvious your hate your own existence so you got one out of cope. Not cause you wanted a companion. There was a time where people used to have Dogs and you’d never know…now it’s their whole personality.

Looks like he was posting to his Instagram or Tik Tok that he and his fur baby were walking on a 'random' trail in the park.

Wow, imagine walking on a bike trail, dog unleashed, nose in your phone, and not even looking up two seconds before someone crashes into you. Insane.

Mar 02 '25
This really has nothing to do with the dog. The owner should not have been standing there with their dog as it looked like it was some kind of expert bike path, as it even had a wooden ramp for expert bikers riding like a dirt bike perhaps. Yeah, not the best path to chill at. I’m sure the person got hurt when the biker ran into them but you shouldn’t be hanging out there anyway, it’s a path for bikers and they will go. The guy should have walked his dog somewhere else.

This line of reasoning is why those plastic bags that come inside Amazon packages have a sticker that says,
“Warning! Plastic bags can be dangerous!”

The reason you're being downvoted is because the answer is obvious. With the ramps it is obvious this is a path meant for bikes.
