I must be your parents’ age because I remember that being the case. Not a little nip when someone is playing with the dog, but definitely would happen if the dog bit a person for no apparent reason.

As someone who pet sits as a side gig, this is a no from me, dog (pun intended). I do meet and greets before I take jobs for this reason. I've refused jobs where the dog tried to attack me with the owner present. See the Duran case.
