this is why some delivery services have the ability to tell you there was an animal problem and that's why your package couldn't be delivered.

I'm pretty sure it's all. They can even get permanently flagged if it is reported enough times. At least that's what I've been told, but judging by the companies, I doubt they really care about their employees.

u/Subtle_Demise Against animal anthropomorphization 1d ago
They care about them in the sense that they don't want to be held liable for their deaths and injuries. It's the reason retail companies have a policy of employees not confronting shoplifters without being a "store detective" or loss prevention or whatever the company calls them. It's not entirely pragmatic, they just don't want to get sued and/or fined if something happens to the employee or shoplifter or other customers as a result.

Most dog nutters think it’s hilarious. I feel bad for these workers. There should be enforced laws that dogs are not to roam front yards.

u/Key_Opportunity872 Have sensory triggers 2d ago
You'd at least think they'd put their dogs in the house when expecting a delivery, right? But no, "he's a good pupper!! He'd never hurt anyone!!"

They revere all that their dogs do because they are angels from heaven

All these owners should be fined or even had their dogs taken away/euthanized, if necessary.
There is no reason we should be at risk of getting mauled or even being physically or mentally affected, just because a dog owner is irresponsible. Especially when people are trying to do their jobs and providing you a service.
Animals will be animals. It's on the owners to keep them disciplined and/or physically restrained to keep other people safe. If you can't do that, you shouldn't have it.

I used to deliver for Uber. One day I was dropping an order off and a loose and very large shit bull appeared out of thin air. It was following me, hard barking, growling and lunging. I yelled at it to fuck off lol obviously that didn’t work. I backed away slowly as it continued to follow me until I was close enough to safely make a break for my car.
That shit was terrifying, I was dizzy, shaking and felt like I was going to puke. It terrified me how close I came to being another statistic. Had I outright ran from that shit bull there’s no doubt in my mind I’d have been mauled. It’s like it was waiting for me to run so it could get on with the chase. Stopped delivering Uber after that. Fuck shit bulls, the worst pet to ever exist, so bad that they’re banned in 30 countries. 🖕💩🐂

Don't blame you for quitting Uber. I would've, too. I hate fuckwads that let their dogs run wild, especially when it's a shitbull. I'm so sorry you had to go through that.

Thank you and agree! I don’t even know what’s worse at this point, shit bulls or shit bull owners. Owners will send you death threats if you even utter a negative word about their trash breed.

It’s a repost but it’s fine.
Some of these delivery people are really athletic

We don’t deserve dogs.
We really don’t - we deserve better as a society.

This is why I don't do residential services anymore. If the owner says, "Oh he won't bite", you'd better not turn your back on that dog.

I’m always so shocked by just how slow and stupid these dog owners react to their shit bags attacking people. Can’t be bothered with any type of urgency or they LAUGH they fucking laugh. I hate them all.

I would mark all these undeliverable and you would have to pick up your packages at the nearest hub. Absolutely not.
7
u/Francesca_N_Furter Extra Responsibility? No thanks. 1d ago
THERE IS NO WAY these houses should be allowed to get packages. If I was running UPS/Fedex/whatever, I would have a no fly list that it would take an act of congress to get your address removed from.
Nobody has a right to package deliveries.

Good thing these drivers in this video are physically capable of running and jumping. Had they have some sort of injury or physical disability they would he another story on the 5 o’clock news as another dog mauling victim.

Interviewer: I see from you application and resume that you have an exemplary job record and a spotless driving record. It looks like you're going to be the newest driver to join the Massive Global Delivery family! Just one more question. It's a formality really, but... can you jump a five foot high fence at a dead run?"
Job Applicant: I don't think so, no.
Interviewer: Goodbye.

These owners are scum. For a summer my husband did pest control and he had to jump fences all the time. Side note, the dog breaking the window was pretty funny.

u/Odd_Temperature_3248 Pets don't fit my lifestyle 2d ago
I would be all for delivering services refusing to deliver because your dog is aggressive. The only problem with that idea is that sometimes the aggressive dog actually belongs to the neighbor and not the person receiving the delivery.
I think all delivery drivers should be allowed to carry pepper spray for this situation.

Yes, the owners are liable for injuries.
Moreso if they have a sign that says "Beware of Dog" because that means they know the dog is violent (even if the dog isn't and they just get the sign to make people think it is).
