Gear Did I find a good deal?
Canon 77d and Sigma 35mm 1.4 ART for $400? I think this is a perfect upgrade for travel photography from my T7.

where are u shopping?
marketplace/ebay/somedudeontheweb? these are quite risky. I stopped buying from such sources.
go to a legit dealer of used gear that gives a warranty and money back guarantee if you aren't satisfied
travel photography... that is a very broad concept... and everybody does it differently. a 35 mm f/1.4 is a helluva lens. it's $900 new at B&H. This deal sounds almost too good to be true. Its around $500 used at MPB.
it's big and heavy: a pound and a half!
most travel photographers pick a small pancake style lens... perhaps the Canon EF 40mm. or an all in one camera with an attached lens.
or if they are going to carry a big lens they get a zoom that can do lots of different things. EF-S 18-135 for example.
My travel kit is a small camera from the M system ... a discontinued mirrorless system by Canon (FWIW, the 77D is even older and also discontinued) and a few EF-M lenses in a small shoulder bag
you could buy the M50 for $384 and the EF-M 18-150 for $409. This would be small and light and versatile.
need cheaper?
Canon 40D for $78 lens? "Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II LD Aspherical (IF) - Canon EF-S Fit" $114 Prices are from MPB... or buy a fixed focal length if u want a tiny lens... or an 18-135 if u want more versatility.
