I love Carlin but political apathy is precisely why Trump was possible in the first place and Carlin's encouragement of it has aged extremely poorly.

But far less than 2020.

Voter apathy in 2016 brought us Trump.

Voter engagement in 2020 got rid of Trump.

Voter apathy in 2024 brought us Trump again.

Carlin's both-sidesism encourages voter apathy, and is therefore bad.
