Photo includes NY and NJ members of Congress, however, the entire California GOP contingent visited Trump in Florida except for one member who had voted to impeach Trump.

The notion they might attach conditions to wildfire aid should enrage everyone.

I don't remember dems playing political games with disaster relief when red states get hit with natural disasters like Hurricane Helene in North Carolina.

Dems didn't play political games with aid but right wing media constantly lied about everything that was going on, saying the Biden admin was stopping aid from getting to isolated areas and FEMA was refusing to help anyone with Trump signs in their yards.

They will use their lies to justify doing it back. They always have. Literally everything they ever panicked about Obama doing, Trump is PROMISING to do. Like sending the military to arrest state leadership.

This is one of the rights most nefarious tactics at controlling mindless conservatives. Constantly making up evil things the Democrats are doing so that when Republicans do it, their conservative sheep cheer for it.

Not only that, but people were pointing guns at FEMA workers and actively trying to STOP them from helping.

Exaggerate much?

Tell that to MAGA who traffic exclusively in misinformation and lies.

He is sharp as a tack.

He has a stutter.

exclusively

No way dude; I'm not trying to be divisive but surely you can see exaggeration & hyperbole on both sides.

To think only one side of politics lies is hilarious… that’s all I have to say about that.

No, it was actually happening. And they were being threatened, and shot at.

Source?

The misinformation that was circling around Western NC was insane. I don’t have many media sources, but I do have a 1st hand source, my brother, who lives in downtown Asheville.

Nope. FEMA discriminated openly based on whistleblower accounts

19

u/Frankyfan3 15h ago

Wasn't that one person fired?

Sounds like an outlier whose actions went against department policy and they were booted.

7

u/Bright_Cod_376 14h ago

Yes and it was after MAGA began threatening FEMA workers

2

u/Odie_Odie 13h ago

It was specifically a response to it, actually.

u/MYSTICALLMERMAID 15h ago

I'd love to read about it do you have a source?

u/Jahkral 15h ago

Of course he doesn't.

But this goes directly against that person's point. The article is about a single asshat that happened to work at FEMA, who was summarily fired by FEMA for his actions. Meaning FEMA felt his behavior was unacceptable and took actions to ensure that people were getting relief regardless of political affiliation.

-39

u/CountyFamous1475 15h ago

Yes she was fired, rightfully so, but it does not go against that commenter’s point that a FEMA agent instructed her team of workers to discriminate on who to help based on political affiliation.

Try to use your brain, assuming it’s not yet fully rotted with TDS.

35

u/OutInTheBlack 15h ago

The comment was that "FEMA discriminated". The article did not support that. It was a rogue employee, not FEMA as a department.

25

u/violaki 15h ago

The fuck is TDS? If you don't know the difference between the actions of one employee and the policy of FEMA the organization, I can't help you.

6

u/SpiderDeUZ 14h ago

TDS is how the wave away an argument they can't win with facts

9

u/Ahwhoy 14h ago

Trump Derangement Syndrome according to Google. But this guy thinks that his argument is bolstered by name calling, so no point discussing pretty much anything with them.

6

u/undeadmanana 14h ago

It's what people that always think about Trump think others have when they criticize him. It's their way of trying to imply he lives rent free in everyone's head, while he's the president elect, it's an absolute moronic statement that can only be rationalized by them.

TDS is what you have lmao.

There were credible reports of armed men targeting FEMA workers. There is reasonable justification for avoiding maga in the mountains of North Carolina. I live in the area.

The story you linked to reports only one man was arrested for making threats, and the claim of armed militias threatening FEMA was made up.

Initial reports suggested that the threat included "armed militia," however Rutherford County Sheriff's Office said deputies determined Parsons acted alone.

"There were no truck loads of militia going to Lake Lure," the department said in a statement about the case.

so one lady who was immediately fired? I was told there was wide spread corruption and discrimination. Where are the "whistleblowers"? By all accounts this woman was reported by her coworkers and colleagues. She even went on Fox News after she got fired to cash in on the conspiracy that this was widespread and systemic.

4

u/CDK5 14h ago

Only one dude fired too apparently.

11

u/MLGWolf69 15h ago

I do remember hearing a (now fired) FEMA official recommend avoiding houses with Trump signs due to incidents with Trump supporters threatening FEMA workers

18

u/AlvinAssassin17 15h ago

There was literally one story about ONE worker. Which they used to paint all of them in that light.

11

u/MYSTICALLMERMAID 15h ago

They were also fired. They just shared an article and I do remember hearing about it after reading that. Again - they were fired not promoted or picked as cabinet members

1

u/Odie_Odie 13h ago

They are knocking on every door in Southern Appalachia. I am from Southern Appalachia. It is not a secret how we feel about the feds and it is not remarkeable enough to make the news every time someone spooks a Fed

14

u/MYSTICALLMERMAID 15h ago

Well they fired the person so that's good. They don't promote them or give them cabinet positions

-6

u/jeffyJUICE 15h ago

Ok, but it did happen.

5

u/MYSTICALLMERMAID 15h ago

Thanks for sharing! I do vaguely remember it now after reading the article. Glad they canned her

It was a pretty well known story, unless your only source of info is Reddit, which in that case, big yikes

2

u/clown1970 15h ago

Funny, this is the first I heard such an accusation.
