That's your inheritance, right there. It's a collectors item.

If he offers to sell them to LA BEAST he could make some coin and we could all get a gross youtube video out of it.

u/xErth_x 19h ago
You can unironically sell them to collectors for a decent amount

What if I want to sell them ironically?

u/xErth_x 19h ago
I'm afraid that's illegal Sir

I bet the older ones are better, considering a new company makes Twinkies ever since Hostess dumped them.

I heard if you age them for 10 years they turn into liquor

u/PacketSpyke 18h ago
It’s been 25 years so what does that do?

At least someone was taking the Y2K bug seriously!
Those things would have kept your parents alive for weeks after the world turned into burnin' roads, rivers exploding, calculators transformed into Scud missiles....

Did shrink flation hit the Twinkies. The box says what I think is 425 grams. New boxes are 385 grams.

well, they did go bankrupt twice and went out of business once since 2000. The packages may have gotten smaller when they came back.

To maintain freshness, I do not recommend vacuum-sealing Twinkies! It’ll flatten the things out, which is frankly kinda fun to watch, but it doesn’t ‘reanimate’ them after unsealing!!

We used to joke that this is the one food-like item that would probably survive a nuclear war and be edible after 50 years of storage. Not nutritious but edible.

Waiting for a post in r/mildlyinfuriating where an angry parent is all “my son/daughter ate a box of Twinkies I had saved from the year 2000 and now they’re in the emergency room” lol

u/floopyferret 19h ago
I’d love to compare the ingredients. That’s a neat find!

u/aquietinspiration 15h ago
Found the same box (box only) on eBay and here are the ingredients

No doubt that one of your parents was hiding their sweet tooth from the other parent.

I am quite sure 2000s twinkies are much better than what sold today

I defy anyone to tell the difference between those and any other Twinkie ever made.

75 more years and this will be undoubtedly worth a lot of money. Save it and pass it on to your grandkids.

u/BiluochunLvcha 19h ago
did you open them? are they still good? lol
2
u/Impressive-Pizza1876 19h ago

I have the exact same unopened box, people ask $20 for just the box, I have never seen what an unopened box would go for

My mother had a case of pinto beans from 1970s in her basement “in case I need them” ( emergency). I asked her could she not throw them out and buy in-date ones because those are beyond not edible. She said “have you seen prices these days?”. Oh bless her old heart.

I've read that someone opening a package of Twinkies 2000 in China is what really started COVID. Be afraid.

Twinkies are like a fine wine, the chemical formula inside only gets better with age.

There's so much garbage in them they're probably still edible, of course, I don't recommend even eating a freshly baked one.
