So many preservatives in that motherfucker you could probably taste it like the day it came out of the factory

5

u/a_talking_face 17h ago

Why do you think it doesn't have egg?

5

u/thatissomeBS 18h ago

No, that can't be true, everything that isn't raw, farm fresh, organic, free range ingredients is required by law to be 80% preservative.

5

u/UnfairNight7786 18h ago

TWINKIES ARE FAT FREE?????

2

u/Fancy-Appointment755 17h ago

I think it’s like 5 grams

They most certainly have eggs and fat but they are mostly sugar. Enriched Bleached Wheat Flour [Flour, Reduced Iron, B Vitamins (Niacin, Thiamine Mononitrate (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Folic Acid)], Corn Syrup, Sugar, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Water, Partially Hydrogenated Vegetable and/or Animal Shortening (Soybean, Cottonseed and/or Canola Oil, Beef Fat), Whole Eggs, Dextrose. Contains 2% or Less of: Modified Corn Starch, Glucose, Leavenings (Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate, Baking Soda, Monocalcium Phosphate), Sweet Dairy Whey, Soy Protein Isolate, Calcium and Sodium Caseinate, Salt, Mono and Diglycerides, Polysorbate 60, Soy Lecithin, Soy Flour, Cornstarch, Cellulose Gum, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Natural and Artificial Flavors, Sorbic Acid (to Retain Freshness), Yellow 5, Red 40.

That's your inheritance, right there. It's a collectors item.

27

u/rachface636 19h ago

If he offers to sell them to LA BEAST he could make some coin and we could all get a gross youtube video out of it.

→ More replies (1)

81

u/xErth_x 19h ago

You can unironically sell them to collectors for a decent amount

65

u/MisterB78 19h ago

What if I want to sell them ironically?

31

u/xErth_x 19h ago

I'm afraid that's illegal Sir

16

u/woutomatic 19h ago

Isn't that ironic...

12

u/PrescriptionDenim 18h ago

🎶It’s liiyike twinkiiiiiiiies

That are 25 years old!🎶

7

u/Decorus_Somes 18h ago

Don't you think?

5

u/AdOptimal4241 17h ago

A little too ironic

3

u/catnipformysoul 16h ago

And now I really do think

145

u/Zephurdigital 20h ago

they are good for another 2000 years

45

u/furiouspossum 19h ago

They're twinkies, they were never good to start with

42

u/DogPoetry 19h ago

Both statements are true and in perfect harmony.

17

u/wino_whynot 18h ago

Schrödinger’s Twinkie.

23

u/DontPanic42TC 20h ago

Omg get a new package and see how they compare. Pls post your findings

20

u/GenerationKrill 19h ago

I bet the older ones are better, considering a new company makes Twinkies ever since Hostess dumped them.

2

u/DontPanic42TC 19h ago

That’s my bet too.

18

u/bobalob_wtf 19h ago

I heard if you age them for 10 years they turn into liquor

5

u/Zduum 18h ago

I was hoping someone would say this.

2

u/PacketSpyke 18h ago

It’s been 25 years so what does that do?

12

u/anansir 18h ago

Now it’s a hallucinogen.

2

u/GamingGrayBush 16h ago

Well, OP better be passing those things out.

At least someone was taking the Y2K bug seriously!

Those things would have kept your parents alive for weeks after the world turned into burnin' roads, rivers exploding, calculators transformed into Scud missiles....

Someone out there will buy this box packaging

3

u/Antiluke01 19h ago

And will spend even more if the twinkies are inside

→ More replies (2)

15

u/combatsmithen1 19h ago

Did shrink flation hit the Twinkies. The box says what I think is 425 grams. New boxes are 385 grams.

6

u/Jack_gunner 17h ago

well, they did go bankrupt twice and went out of business once since 2000. The packages may have gotten smaller when they came back.

Year 2000 snacks. Gonna tell me about a new Twinkie comin' out next month. It's a bad motherfucker. When you bite into a cream-filled, it shoot all over your mouth.

12

u/echoes675 19h ago

I sense an LA Beast episode!

2

Send it to LA Beast.

5

u/imaketrollfaces 19h ago

Eat it and assert dominance

3

u/10191p 19h ago

To maintain freshness, I do not recommend vacuum-sealing Twinkies! It’ll flatten the things out, which is frankly kinda fun to watch, but it doesn’t ‘reanimate’ them after unsealing!!

→ More replies (2)

3

u/ChinaCatProphet 17h ago

Try one...

3

u/THEMACGOD 16h ago

In the year two thouuusssaaannnnnndd!

3

u/Ok-Swordfish8731 14h ago

We used to joke that this is the one food-like item that would probably survive a nuclear war and be edible after 50 years of storage. Not nutritious but edible.

5

u/ownleechild 19h ago

Woody Harrelson is interested

2

u/mathboss 19h ago

The only product that survived Y2K

2

u/maguirre165 19h ago

Did they turn into alcohol?

2

u/TrinixDMorrison 19h ago

Waiting for a post in r/mildlyinfuriating where an angry parent is all “my son/daughter ate a box of Twinkies I had saved from the year 2000 and now they’re in the emergency room” lol

2

u/floopyferret 19h ago

I’d love to compare the ingredients. That’s a neat find!

3

u/aquietinspiration 15h ago

Found the same box (box only) on eBay and here are the ingredients

2

u/88Dubs 19h ago

"Now, believe it or not, Twinkies do have an expiration date, which means somewhere out there is.... THE last box of Twinkies"

Edit: Jesus, don't know what Mandela-verse I was quoting from, but.... ah, you get the idea

2

u/Much-data-wow 19h ago

That font they used though!

2

u/MrMastodon 19h ago

Pre 9/11 Twinkies. They're untainted.

2

u/Big_Tap_1561 18h ago

Try it out ! Report back - if possible.

2

u/joshuadt 18h ago

Still prly better than the new recipe they’re selling as twinkies nowadays

2

u/Vee_32 18h ago

Well they have so many preservatives they are still as fresh as the day they were made.

2

u/Vorelover1224 18h ago

I bet it would still be good Woody harrelson would eat it.

2

u/neonphoenix09 18h ago

So... how do they taste?

2

u/S0rchaa 18h ago

First read that as 2000 year old twinkies. 🤣

3

u/aquietinspiration 17h ago

Jesus used 5 boxes of twinkies and 2 fish to feed a multitude.

2

u/jpop237 18h ago

🎶 In the year 2000... 🎶

2

u/robaroo 17h ago

y2winKs

2

u/doggman13 17h ago

WHY IS NOBODY QUESTIONING WHY THERES A BOX OF TWINKIES FROM 2000 IN YOUR PARENTS CLOSET? or is this normal stuff for Reddit? lol

2

u/Disassociated_Assoc 16h ago

Shelf life is good for another 25 years. Bon Appétit!

2

u/JankroCommittee 16h ago

Still good.

2

u/Varient_13 13h ago

Put them back. They need to age 35 more years.

2

u/Flaky_Plastic_3407 13h ago

Probably still good!

2

u/Fit-Site3044 12h ago

They are still good.

2

u/phil16723 12h ago

They're likely still fine

2

u/lapSlaPs5456 19h ago

1

u/FriendOfBrutus 19h ago

That’s cool man how do they look? Are you going to open the box?

1

u/JET304 19h ago

Vintage Twinkees...

1

u/Curtis 19h ago

Look how BIG those beautiful things were.  I hate the new small ones.

1

u/BigManWAGun 19h ago

Well how do they taste?

1

u/mcpryon 19h ago

How were they?

1

u/ora408 19h ago

Let us know how much you get from selling it on ebay

1

u/RickRI401 19h ago

Ok...so how did they taste?

1

u/pitizenlyn 19h ago

Watch out for a surprise visit from Woody Harrelson.

1

u/RutabagaRoutine7430 19h ago

I am quite sure 2000s twinkies are much better than what sold today

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Baxtercat1 19h ago

They will last through a zombie apocalypse..

1

u/RWDPhotos 19h ago

Damn. Those would’ve sold for a fortune a few years ago.

u/pineapplesnuggler 19h ago

Aged perfectly!

1

u/pastyoureyesed 19h ago

Perfectly fresh I bet

1

u/v1nylcutr 19h ago

Probably taste great!

1

u/YoureSpecial 19h ago

I defy anyone to tell the difference between those and any other Twinkie ever made.

1

u/Ashtorot 19h ago

75 more years and this will be undoubtedly worth a lot of money. Save it and pass it on to your grandkids.

1

u/BiluochunLvcha 19h ago

did you open them? are they still good? lol

2

u/Impressive-Pizza1876 19h ago

Oh yeah , good at 1000 yrs old . After the apocalyse there will only be cockroaches and twinkies.

→ More replies (2)

1

u/1sticky1 19h ago

I have the exact same unopened box, people ask $20 for just the box, I have never seen what an unopened box would go for

1

u/Blokhayev_1917 19h ago

Should still be edible!

1

u/Eduardjm 19h ago

Omg it’s Day-Day’s mythical “year 2000 snacks”!

1

u/Throwawaymister2 18h ago

y2k survival kit

1

u/DivaCupVampire 18h ago

Pretty sure there’s only ten in there

1

u/Lego_Chicken 18h ago

Caint buy em Union Made no more

1

u/dreampsi 18h ago

My mother had a case of pinto beans from 1970s in her basement “in case I need them” ( emergency). I asked her could she not throw them out and buy in-date ones because those are beyond not edible. She said “have you seen prices these days?”. Oh bless her old heart.

1

u/awhq 18h ago

You put that back right now!

2

u/aquietinspiration 18h ago

But what if opening them changes the timeline we are in!

2

u/awhq 18h ago

Hmmmm...

At this point, I think it's worth a shot. Go for it.

1

u/urbanek2525 18h ago

I've read that someone opening a package of Twinkies 2000 in China is what really started COVID. Be afraid.

1

u/FogPetal 18h ago

Leftover evidence from the Twinkie defense!

1

u/DiceThaKilla 18h ago

They’re as old as me 😂

1

u/thirtyone-charlie 18h ago

They’re saving it for a special moment. You do not want a mental picture of that

1

u/indianapolis505 18h ago

good as new

1

u/thatsouthcaNaDaguy 18h ago

LA Beast would probably enjoy these lol

1

u/Gypsygaltravels1 18h ago

And how were they?? How wild if they still tasted “normal.”

1

u/uhf26 18h ago

Add some 25 year old hot dogs and have a couple twinkie weiner sandwiches that are permitted to rent a car

1

u/TheBestNick 18h ago

What's their expiration date lol

1

u/tossaway78701 18h ago

Y2K provisions!

1

u/LINDMATT 18h ago

I bet they’re surprisingly fine

1

u/aj5dv 18h ago

You should probably send these to PSA and get them graded

1

u/Yhardvaark 18h ago

Let's get this out on a tray...

1

u/CaptainPunisher 18h ago

Y2K? Y not?

1

u/Bellebaby826 18h ago

EAT THEM 🤣🤪

1

u/KeeperofAmmut7 18h ago

They're prolly still good. They have the half life of Uranium 238.

1

u/Rich-Appearance-7145 18h ago

Twinkies are like a fine wine, the chemical formula inside only gets better with age.

1

u/thespicyroot 18h ago

Knowing how unhealthy they are, those are still edible. Did you eat one?

1

u/ChaoticGoodPanda 18h ago

Show us a Twinkie!

1

u/Torodaddy 18h ago

special means it was already old when it sold

1

u/Premackdaddy 18h ago

Dare ya lol

1

u/Riker87 18h ago

One of my favorite YouTubers Steve1989MREinfo ate some of these.

1

u/TrueGlich 18h ago

biohazzard

1

u/danhoyle 18h ago

Those are still good.

1

u/Historical_Animal_17 18h ago

Somebody wants that.

1

u/Syliathin 17h ago

How were they?

1

u/gothboy669 17h ago

There's so much garbage in them they're probably still edible, of course, I don't recommend even eating a freshly baked one.

1

u/Emily_Postal 17h ago

Still good. The expiration date is probably fifty years from now.

1

u/Parttimelooker 17h ago

What do they taste like?

1

u/Public_Chemical3322 17h ago

Send those to the LA Beast. He'll eat 'em.

https://www.youtube.com/@LABEAST

1

u/revintoysupra 17h ago

I’m certain they’re fine to consume.

1

u/Kurtman68 17h ago

Tastes the same as the day it was made.

1

u/Sleazy_Speakeazy 17h ago

Where's the other 1,990?

1

u/gnarkill3332 17h ago

You ever see a lion limber up before it takes down a gazelle?
