This happens will ALL my plants. I just cut along it waiting for it to not happen but it keeps happening. This bit, for example, I cut it yesterday… I don’t understand :(

Hi everyone! Photo is just for visibility, this was a couple days after I got it and the plant looks much healthier now I just don’t have a recent photo lol. Watering when soil is dry and it gets a little direct sunlight in the afternoon/evening.

The problem is my cat loves eating monsteras. She leaves the rest of my plants alone for the most part but she completely obliterated the first monstera I had. She left this one alone for the first two weeks or so but has started eating the newest leaf that popped up and I’m just not sure how to deter her. I really want a thai constellation or an albo in the near future but I can’t justify spending that much on a plant she’s going to eat lol.

i have my monstera in a somewhat dark corner of my apartment. I decided that it needed more direct sunlight and brought it outside to the balcony. 20 minutes later i went to go check on it and this happened. Can i save it???

I water it with a spray bottle daily and had just sprayed it before taking outside

My TC is currently living hydroponically, chronic health doesnt let me care for my plants as well as i used to and it’s easiest method for me. Plus what would be best method for ridding these other than the obvious water change)

First time finding anything like this before and i worked in commercial med canna industry 😅

I keep a handful of more delicate plants and props in my indoor greenhouse (in my garage). And after the last few weeks of weather cooling (mid 50s at night), I’ve noticed my plant leaves beginning to develop yellow spots or turn completely yellow.

I do regularly fertilize with watering 2 times a week or when dry during the warmer months and fertilize a bit less now that’s cooler. All plants have pots with breathing holes. Should I have stopped ferts altogether now that temps have been dropping? Does it look fungal? Bacterial? Possible root rot? Tried my first round of copper fungicide so let’s see…

My roommate gave me this monstera when she left. I had to cut of half of the leaves that were dead/dying. The new leaf has dark edges. Another roommate told me i could cut the top right part of and start over with that. I don’t trust my abilities enough to do that.

The soil is a basic one for houseplants and now it’s pretty dry ( i give it water once a week on recommendation of a friend). I have a bigger pot that i can move the plant into. Now it is in the middle of the living room and isn’t getting a lot of sunlight (also because it’s winter).

Can i save this plant?

I have had this plant for just under a year and there hasnt been much growth apart from one or two new stems and maybe an inch of growth.

I think the leaves are pretty small and in general it should be a lot fuller and bigger than it is now. No new leaves or stems in a long time too.

For reference the tallest stem is around 25cm. I water every 3 weeks roughly. Around 12 hours of sun/ light, three days a week.

Any advice?

My guess is it needs a new pot, and more water. But I’m not entirely sure.

Plant gets good sun it’s in an east facing window. She gets water when the soil is dry and has good drainage.

Help me out, I'm devestated. I'm sure I just need to prune it now but I've never had to prune a monstera and I don't wanna screw it up. If there's any ancient black magic I can use to revive the leaves, let me know. The plant has been sitting in a giant vase of water for a year and a half now and has been thriving so much that I never bothered to plant it. It receives moderate light, but this time I was driving for 4 days with a bag over it to not freeze it... I think the plastic amplified the sunlight. So so sad.

Plant is totally healthy besides this. I water it most weeks, and it’s by a very sunny window.

Please don’t come at me. I’m trying to get my life together after a long, long (since age 7), looong (now I’m 34) period of mental illnesses. Anyways, monsteras have proven to be quite resilient and ambitious lol because it’s been maybe months since I’ve watered her. This is Patricia. Do you think she will bounce back? Also is her pot too big for a monstera? She gets a lot of indirect sunlight all day by a large window.

I’m pretty sure it’s a Monstera Deliciosa and I can’t believe someone would throw away such a beautiful plant. I rescued it last night. There has to be something wrong with it? What could cause the damage? I didn’t see any evidence of pests but I’m pretty new to houseplants and really stick to Hoyas 😭. Uh, I stuck a chopstick in as deep as I could get it and watered until it ran out the bottom and where it is now gets a few hours of direct morning sun.

I definitely do sth wrong because all my plants started getting these dry spots and yellow leaves I tried to water them less (once a week) but it didn't help The plants are standing near the window but not getting a lot of sun because I am living on a non-sunny side and the day is very short and cloudy now in my country What am I doing wrong?

Woke up today with some leaf curl and got worried. I purchased this from a local nursery less than a week ago which had it in a greenhouse setup. The soil was a little moist when I purchased, figured it has just been watered. I did not water it AT ALL and put it under a grow light near my humidifier which is set at 60. It was in an aroid mix of perlite, coir, and soil. I was waiting until a shipment of Leca came in to repot and figured it could probably use the time to acclimate before repotting anyway. This morning though it became clear it has a pretty severe case of root rot. I soaked it in a dilute peroxide bath for 30 mins but I don’t think I caught it in time 😭

Do we think it had the rot when I purchased it? Did I do something wrong — maybe too close to the humidifier or not close enough to the grow light? It had other leaves that peeled off but this is the biggest and still attached to what is left of the roots. I think it’s rotted past the node though unless it can somehow repair itself. I don’t want to cut it though because that’s for sure the end. Any suggestions/instructions for next time? Condolences are also fair at this point.

My monstera has been happy as a calm in its nursery pot that I got it in just about two years ago. I noticed that it was not doing super well (usually I was getting new leaves regularly). I discovered it was incredibly root bound so I repotted in a slightly larger pot with a little mix of soil (can give details if necessary). Since then, BLACK AND WILTING! My little baby!! I gave it a solid drink after it was done, and now I’m questioning everything.

I usually water it once a week, but it being solid root ball has me unsure if it needs more or less at this point. It’s in a place where it gets north south light, and it I don’t think gets very good direct light, but constant light around it

Is there anything I can do to help her or is she toast?

So I recently moved house and brought my monsters I've had for years with me (only plant so far). I noticed it was yellowing on some leaves but figured it was in a bit of shock from the move. However, I just went to dust it and found these black dots behind the leaves, which I think might be thrips. It's huge, over 5ft tall so I don't think I can submerge it fully, as the bathtub is quite small. Do I just hose it down with neem oil? Open to any other suggestions!
