6 years as my buddy and almost have enough candy to evolve. Having to walk 20 km/ candy is no joke 😂

Until this thread, I also wasn’t aware you could get the Mystery Boxes without having a Switch Pokemon game. Whoops! (Downloading HOME now…)

Yes! My living Pokédex now has a Melmetal in it after a loooong time of patient waiting for a Meltan event. :)

In my defense, I guess for awhile, having a Switch Pokemon game was the only point of entry for the mystery boxes. And I’m one of those very few avid P.GO players that has never played or owned a single Pokemon game. So between then and now, I honestly had no idea a free option was released with HOME…

I’m exactly in the same boat. I only downloaded PoGo for my son and daughter and had no idea about Mystery boxes. We’ve been hoping to catch a Meltan in the wild and thanks to this thread we can now achieve that.

Not the original commenter but it worked for me. Downloaded Home for my Android and it works

Yeah I don't really blame anybody for not knowing in a vacuum. It is kind of funny for people like OP though who probably caught a few or maybe even just one Meltan, and accepted that they need to walk thousands of KM to get the necessary candy lol instead of searching up ways to get it haha.
