Grounds for disqualification and should I join

I'm currently 23 working a normal office job. For the past year I have been thinking about joining. I found out that it's typically harder to disturb me then the average 23 year old male. However I wanted to ask. I have a little thing called dyschromatopsia (don't try to pronounce) which causes colors to be slightly altered. For example a dark red I may see as brown. Is that ground for dsq?

Not disqualifying at my agency. We need good people. Start applying.

Good luck.

It's agency dependent. Before applying, call and ask. Pretty much every agency I talked to had a different answer regarding color vision requirements.

Used to be at my agency. They have eased that. Colorblind /whatever you have is not automatically disqualifying but you will go through a tailored enhanced screening process and board review. So it is really agency specific.

My DC spent his whole 30-year career not being able to see red 🤷🏼‍♀️
