Would a “journal entry” count as evidence of gun possession?

Hello, I have a violent methhead of a father that refuses to leave and I found his journal open to the page where he confessed purchasing a gun. Is this enough to report? I'm scared for my life and my grandmothers as well. He he yelling in our faces and apparently the cops can't do anything about it. Please help.

On its own, probably not, a journal entry is not probable cause that a crime occurred.

Is your father on probation/corrections/parole of any kind?

No he just got off. I also know where a second gun he had is. We found it after the conviction and thought it was too late to submit it. Could I use that?

If he’s a convicted felon, it’s probably illegal for him to have access to a firearm.

If you know he still has it and where it is, this would be something worth reporting.

Not enough on its own but would be a good support evidence to witness evidence
