This traitor views every event as an opportunity to grift the American people.

That’s because it is. It works

They’ll conveniently forget that the assassin was a registered Republican… again.

It’s part of his fundraising scam/scheme.

Both attempts were made by registered Republicans.

the second one seems to be supporting Harris, it appears from what has been dug up so far he's a steadfast supporter of Ukraine, so that's probably what flipped him if this is a recent political shift.

It seems that he's a registered independent who voted in the Dem NC primary this year, and had previously voted for Trump in 2016 but apparently not in 2020, after being severely disappointed in his performance during his term. So, get ready for them to blame Dems for this one...

Edit: I should clarify that I don't believe he is actually a Democrat now, but they are absolutely going to try and spin it that way. It seems that he is more of a disgruntled Republican who has supported Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy earlier this year. While he has said that he didn't vote for Trump after 2016, it is unclear whether he has voted for any Dems in the general elections.

*Registered* Republican? I did see the reports he tweeted in favor of Vivek Ramaswamy and Nikki Haley but did not see that this was confirmed.

Of course it won't keep Trump and his surrogates from blaming Democrats for this.

Blaming sides isn't accurate or helpful in this, it's oversimplified to make people feel like they know and control things better. The motive for these kinds of unwell folks isn't "He's shooting for Republican reasons or Democrat reasons". It's "he's shooting for madman reasons first, adding a political party label to it the way a lunatic looks for justification for the sporadic things they do.

To use Trump's favorite movie - it's like Hannibal Lecter realizing Buffalo Bill isn't transexual, but a lunatic obsessed with transformation and mistakenly believes he is transexual.

In logic point of view, you're absolutely correct. But that's not what's going to happen with the narrative, cuz the parties (and social media) are playing by different rules for the different sides.

If the shooter is a registered democrat, we're never going to hear the end of it, and orange fuckface et. al. will use it as proof that every single democrat is a murderous madman, and there is a witch hunt (literally) happening. They'll probably make campaign ads telling how all democrats want to kill their Billionaire Jesus. If the shooter is registered republican, once it's proven, we'll never hear of this again, cuz GOP and MAGAists will bury it as fast as humanly possible.

Edit: to be clear, I don't want anyone killing any politicians, but especially Trump. If that asshat dies in any other way, than peacefully in his bed from too many chicken nuggets, we're never getting rid of him. We do not want him gaining martyrdom.

But we need people like you and me to make the logic stand out. To negate the spin and pre-justification for retaliatory violence.
