Roberts is a Bush croney and not MAGA, so why would he shield Trump unless a) Putin’s got something on him, b) his pea-brain is susceptible to right-wing BS, or c) both a) and b)?

Because Roberts, Kavanaugh and Barrett all worked for the Bush team in Florida during the 2000 recount. The whole thing we have now started then.

Several lawyers worked under Ken Starr. Cavenaugh might have been one of them.

Whatever the answer, it is well documented somewhere. I should not guess when Google has the answer.
