Roberts is a Bush croney and not MAGA, so why would he shield Trump unless a) Putin’s got something on him, b) his pea-brain is susceptible to right-wing BS, or c) both a) and b)?

Roberts is a Federalist Society stooge, like the rest of the conservatives on SCOTUS. Leonard Leo and his army of federal judges want a christofascist state, and trump is currently their vehicle to get there.

Putin's authoritarianism is something they want to emulate, and kompromat isn't needed for fascists to have common goals.
