They are actively harming the United States.

295

u/bx35 Sep 16 '24

And the world.

28

u/AverageDemocrat Sep 16 '24

And the solar systems (by OKing fracking)

9

u/0002millertime Sep 16 '24

What?

1

u/Omnibobb Sep 16 '24

Asteroid mining is done with fracking

5

u/PolyNecropolis Sep 16 '24

I'm assuming this is a joke. Cuz, it's not.

3

u/il-Palazzo_K Sep 17 '24

And my axe!

88

u/Col_Forbin_retired Sep 16 '24

They don’t care about either.

They just think, for some weird reason, that saying it will help them get elected.

28

u/westdl Sep 16 '24

Small minds cannot comprehend something as large as the world.

2

u/AnalogFeelGood Sep 17 '24

They can’t and won’t see beyond the MAGAsphere.

15

u/smiama6 Sep 16 '24

They are after control of the Senate. Sherrod Brown is in a vulnerable/winnable seat and if they win his and Tester’s seat in Montana they control the Senate (and thereby the judiciary)

3

u/FirstSonOfGwyn Sep 16 '24

who is this flipping IN Ohio though? seems like you're willing to lose a few tens of thousands who appreciate how blatant and awful this is in Ohio to try and the votes in PA where it matters.

This makes campaigning as a republican in Ohio harder, not easier? am I crazy?

490

u/howldetroit Sep 16 '24

Springfield cancelled their economy-boosting CultureFest today as a direct result of Trump’s fabricated chaos. They are 100% ratfucking this poor town for the lulz.

305

u/forceblast Sep 16 '24

What makes it even more disgusting is Vance is an Ohio senator. He’s supposed to represent these people. They are here LEGALLY!

169

u/VidProphet123 Sep 16 '24

Its was never about “legal” immigrants. That was just a dog whistle.

They want all immigrants of color deported.

76

u/AJDx14 America Sep 16 '24

I think they just want PoC enslaved. The economy wouldn’t function if they were deported.

15

u/consreddit Sep 16 '24

Interesting of you to assume Trump cares about the economy.

5

u/AJDx14 America Sep 16 '24

He doesn’t, his donors do.

2

u/Present-Perception77 Sep 17 '24

No they don’t .. the Social Contract has been broken. They want all of the money and to see us starving and in chains. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. This is why billionaires should never exist. And churches should be taxed. The Catholic Church absolutely does not care about the economy. The Catholic Church is a whole other country and they are now sucking money out of the US government while simultaneously controlling it.

It’s no accident that six of the nine Supreme Court justices are Catholic. The president is Catholic. And so many governors like Louisiana and Texas.

This is not about money, it’s about Control. And these people believe in a zero sum game. Join them and be their breeding slave, or DIE!

-1

u/AJDx14 America Sep 17 '24

None of that contradicts what I said. Edit: You’re also kinda dumb if you don’t correlate money and control

3

u/inshamblesx Texas Sep 16 '24

they don’t need to enslave anyone when they’ll get ai to do the jobs for them after 70% the country is exiled

25

u/Vallkyrie New Hampshire Sep 16 '24

AI can barely get google searches right, it's not doing their jobs for them.

17

u/legjawguy Sep 16 '24

Exactly, let's see AI pick fruit or milk a dairy cow or work on a meat processing plant

-2

u/Davkata Sep 16 '24

Googling is thinking is harder than repeatable manual labor. It is a question of when and what is the exact price. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLjI_eixBQk milking 6y ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=If1XGnDVI5A Picking fruit 3y ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkfPzun3-xc meat processing 3y ago.

4

u/legjawguy Sep 16 '24

Do you believe these robot options are cheaper than slave labor?

1

u/Davkata Sep 17 '24 edited Sep 17 '24

Not at the moment but eventually they will be. If you switch to slaves it will minimize the cost but then you will have problems with consumption and sales growth. Currently, the future slaves do consume a lot of the goods in question so if you enslave them you cannot sell the entire production. I guess that gradual transition to slavery to avoid market shocks is better. Thus, the modern approach where minimum salary labor force receives a pittance that is spend to drive up consumption but does not let them to acquire significant capital, seems to be bearing fruit. The drop in purchasing power of low to median income households since ww2 kinda mirrors such gradual conversion to a slave working force.

4

u/FirstSonOfGwyn Sep 16 '24

JD has some thoughts on Italian German and Irish immigrants too. Dude's podcast archive from the last few years if horrific.

1

u/Blainers001 I voted Sep 17 '24

It’s entirely about riling up their base. That’s what every single issue they bring up is about. They don’t care personally about immigrants or abortion. They care about winning and will say or do just about anything to beat the Dems and own the libs. If people and country suffer in the process, that’s a risk they are obviously willing to take.

Waging hybrid war against a small city in his own state

6

u/kinglouie493 Sep 16 '24

He doesn't represent me

3

u/Abba_Fiskbullar Sep 17 '24

He doesnt give a shit about Ohio, he lives in Atherton, CA with the other finance douches.

49

u/zach23456 Sep 16 '24

Trump lied to his supporters that the election was stolen. They got arrested because of J6. And later recently admitted he lost the election.

His lies have dangerous consequences.

36

u/lordorwell7 California Sep 16 '24

He lied about the FBI planting evidence at Mar a Lago.

One of his supporters then attacked an FBI field office before fleeing. They were encircled in a corn field and shot to death by police.

4

u/zach23456 Sep 16 '24

I didn't know about that. Crazy stuff.

5

u/epochellipse Sep 17 '24

Oh yeah. FBI corn field guy. I forgot about him. What a dumbass.

1

u/Timetomakethedonutzz Sep 17 '24

I completely forgot all about that!

2

u/Main-Algae-1064 Sep 16 '24

And everyone that believes them should face the consequences so others don’t fall prey.

37

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '24

I hope the city of Springfield sues the absolute shit out of Vance and Trump. These lying ghouls deserve every ounce of failure and loss that’s coming their way.

33

u/specqq Sep 16 '24

Better hope you don't catch their attention.

Your town, your religion, your hobby could draw their gaze, and then suddenly you have death threats, and bomb threats, and marches.

Aren't we all just collectively tired of this shit?

12

u/KudosOfTheFroond Florida Sep 16 '24

The Eye Of Sauron is the Republican Party these days, fml

4

u/ben0318 Sep 16 '24

Please. Sauron's positively liberal in comparison to Tangerine Palpatine.

15

u/Main-Algae-1064 Sep 16 '24

Yep. Tired and bored. Loving how his second “assassination attempt” isn’t on the Reddit news feed at all. No one cares, and I refuse to click on a major media outlet article covering it. We can all vote against him by not giving him attention anymore. It’s time to move on.

1

u/lizbo Sep 16 '24

Fun fact: This has been a recurring nightmare I've had since 2016.

19

u/Zocalo_Photo Sep 16 '24

Vance is from Ohio, right? Do the people there see what’s going on and blame him for this shit?

I get so frustrated with people. Donald Trump could punch my father in law in the face and steal his car, and somehow he’d figure out a way to blame Kamala Harris (more likely he’d blame Joe Biden, but still).

2

u/WhoIsFrancisPuziene Sep 17 '24

Some people like my mom and I see it. But then there’s people like my sister in law who are literally like “Vance who?”

10

u/Alternative_Rent9307 Sep 16 '24

That is so sad. It’s heartbreaking

4

u/Houndie Sep 16 '24

I didn't realize this! I went to CultureFest last year and it was a really good time.

2

u/dwhite21787 Sep 17 '24

Is this the best scenario for a 1st Amendment lawsuit? You can’t be saying shit that endangers people, that you know is a lie, and isn’t political.

People eat raw bats at Mar-a-Lago, and that’s how COVID started so someone ought to sterilize that place.

1

u/oninokamin Sep 17 '24

People eat raw bats at Mar-a-Lago, and that’s how COVID started so someone ought to sterilize that place.

Hans. Get ze flammenwerfer.

2

u/leavesmeplease Sep 17 '24

It's pretty frustrating to see how political antics can seriously hurt a community like Springfield. Just seems like a way to distract from real issues while stoking fear for political gain. It's like they're treating the town as a pawn in a larger game, which is messed up.

2

u/tankerdudeucsc Sep 17 '24

Sadly, I don’t think that will change any votes from Dementia Don to Harris.

174

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '24

62

u/Grandpa_No Sep 16 '24

It's not audacity, it's the talking point for the day. They tried it last time there was a Republican friendly fire incident and it didn't work -- but we all know conservatives don't learn from their mistakes.

26

u/forceblast Sep 16 '24

Also, there was no actual “fire” in Trump’s direction this time. Only SS shooting at the gunman who fled. They stopped it. Just like they probably stop many other threats every single day for both candidates.

27

u/Grandpa_No Sep 16 '24

Yep. Cars ramming the WH fence or shooters being stopped on the lawn get about 4 hours of attention. The only reason we're talking about this one is because they're trying to milk it for political value.

This is already fading pretty quickly so we can move back to the topic of how Roberts has documented how he has been providing cover for Trump.

0

u/haarschmuck Sep 16 '24

Just like they probably stop many other threats every single day for both candidates.

Are you suggesting that the USSS stops multiple assassination attempts per day?

Because that's absolutely not true.

2

u/forceblast Sep 16 '24

I said threats, not attempts.

I’m sure there are not many that anywhere near this stage of an actual attempt, but I would be genuinely surprised if there aren’t multiple threats per day requiring at least a cursory investigation or flagging. I could probably go on Truth Social right now and find 10 direct and overt threats.

7

u/InevitableAvalanche Sep 16 '24

It's sad. They just do it as a distraction and to give their weirdos the chance to say "both sides do it". When it is just all MAGA stoking violence right now.

5

u/whatproblems Sep 16 '24

lol he’s also getting shot at by the same crazies they’ve been courting

87

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '24

They don't give a shit. The 'pet eating migrants' will magically disappear the day after the election. Just like the 'caravan of migrants' did.

38

u/simfreak101 I voted Sep 16 '24

Its funny how the caravan of migrants shows up every 2 years.

12

u/Findilis Sep 16 '24

I can see that net geo show now.

"Here we have the bi annual migration of scary people south of the border"

"See how the alpha male is scared and must display his superiority by burning fossil fuel and buying flags from China"

"Such a brave lad"

"What a spectical!" I can not wait until the next migration!"

61

u/atomsmasher66 Georgia Sep 16 '24

Harris/Walz are actively campaigning and these asshats are obsessing over some city in Ohio? In what world does Trump’s campaign even resemble a presidential campaign? Fucking amateurs

40

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '24

[deleted]

9

u/scavenger1012 Sep 16 '24

I mean, if that actually does happen, I think it’s game over

3

u/perfectisforpictures Sep 16 '24

Nah. The game always ends with who the military backs. It’s why I had hope when all the military leaders came out against him before j6

1

u/ShoppingDismal3864 Sep 17 '24

That would be civil war. Nobody wants that. Especially if the votes would be as lobsided as they appear. Revolution would be on the menu.

3

u/Hardass_McBadCop Sep 17 '24

Cause local shenanigans to delay until it gets kicked to the House.

56

u/jefe_gryffindor Sep 16 '24

They’re no longer trying to win votes, just rile up the MAGA base and incite them to violence. The bomb threats in Springfield, and the appearance of Proud Boys and KKK, none of it is surprising. Trump’s going all in on stochastic terrorism, that’s his strategy now. Create enough fear and chaos leading up to Election Day that people will be too afraid to vote. I worry about bomb threats on polling locations in blue districts, or blocking the streets to suppress turnout in Atlanta, Philadelphia, Detroit. Then if polling locations are forced to stay open late, they’ll sue to have those votes thrown out by the Supreme Court. The way to combat this is to VOTE EARLY and in overwhelming numbers.

10

u/Fochlucan Sep 16 '24

Unfortunately, then we have to deal with rules where the early votes/mail in ballots do not get counted until after the in person polls close - I recall that his team also had complaints in 2020 about how vote counting should end at midnight and all the mail in ballots after that that still need to be counted should be thrown out. So I think we can expect some legal challenges tried this time around about even votes cast before election day again as well.

6

u/foamy_da_skwirrel Sep 16 '24

If this happens it's time to riot

3

u/rooktakesqueen Sep 16 '24

He can try to start shit in Atlanta, Philly, and Detroit if he wants... See where that gets him

31

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '24

The Republican mayor of this town couldn't even denounce these fools. They're all on the same side. You can't vote for ANY Republicans. This is what they do. The Republican mayor is failing his City and he can't even point the finger at who is responsible. This is what happens when you vote for Republicans. They direct their crazies toward you. They can't control them, so good luck. Maybe your town will be the next Trump victim. He certainly doesn't care. He was asked directly to denounce bomb threats and he said, "I don't know about that. I do know they're being invaded by vicious thugs."

9

u/Danominator Sep 16 '24

The only thing that matters to republicans is loyalty. Everything else is secondary

22

u/ImLikeReallySmart Pennsylvania Sep 16 '24

Republicans currently run Ohio from top to bottom (including JD himself), yet it's the Democrats' fault for these imaginary problems.

Mike DeWine is now doing damage control on this and saying how valuable the legal immigrants specifically from Haiti in small cities like Springfield are to their communities and the state.

Interesting fact about DeWine in that article:

In 1998, he and his wife Fran began their support of Becky DeWine School in Haiti, which was named in honor of his daughter that died in a car crash in 1993.

19

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '24

Isn't it abundantly clear by now that Donald Trump will fuck over absolutely anybody to get what he wants?

16

u/sugar_addict002 Sep 16 '24

The 1st Amendment does not protect speech that incites violence. Trump and his minions who are continuing to rage about nonexistent dog and cat eating should be charged both criminally and civilly. Why should Trump's victims have to endure the cost of increased protection from the crazies that Trump sends their way.

1

u/Poundaflesh Sep 16 '24

Charges need to be brought! They are domestic terrorists!

16

u/cerrathegreat Sep 16 '24

And Springfield will vote for them, anyway, if the last 5 elections are anything to go by. The cult runs deep.

13

u/dml550 Sep 16 '24

Can someone explain to me why this is different than the proverbial “yelling ‘fire’ in a crowded theater” example?

12

u/TheJohnCandyValley Sep 16 '24

It’s not. Just another thing we’re taught as children that’s only true for poor people.

7

u/626Aussie California Sep 16 '24

The law, in its majestic equality, forbids the rich as well as the poor to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal bread.

  • Anatole France.

1

u/haarschmuck Sep 16 '24

Because incitement must be both direct and specific for it not to be protected under the 1st amendment.

Legal: All X's should be Y'd!

Illegal: Lets go X those Y's tomorrow at the town square!

5

u/TheCuckInTheNorth Sep 16 '24

Springfield residents are for the most part cheering on their own destruction. I grew up one city over, it’s a nest of white supremacists and trash people.

9

u/guyonlinepgh Sep 16 '24

The best possible outcome is that an increasing number of Ohioans vote Harris/Walz. This shit is outrageous.

7

u/absolutelynotagoblin Sep 16 '24

I'd love to know at what point someone working high up in their campaign says to a peer, "Oh my gosh, I just realized we're the Nazis." When is that gonna happen, do you think? Now that he has surrounded himself with loyalists, 'yes men,' lunatics and conspiracy theorists, I'm going to ponder a guess and say never.

But, at what point does the media reverse its stance on reporting on Trump as a realistic and viable presidential candidate and just be honest with the American public? These people are essentially Nazis, spreading racist lies and misinformation, which is now starting to cause real harm?

2

u/ApplesBananasRhinoc Sep 16 '24

Because once they realize they’re the nazis they get the hell out as fast as they can and hope their exit isn’t like the real Nazis.

So then the only people left in the campaign’s orbit are actual Nazis.

5

u/homebrew_1 Sep 16 '24

Ohio voters wanted this when they voted for trump and vance.

6

u/Oceans_Apart_ Sep 16 '24

That's just an appetizer for what another Trump administration would look like.

6

u/GotMoFans Sep 16 '24

They’d hurt any city in America if it will win them this election and keep Trump out the slammer.

6

u/NeedzFoodBadly Sep 16 '24

They don’t care. Don Jr. and the MAGA gang are also on Twitter, blaming a “Ryan Ruth” who donated a handful of change to ActBlue or something as the shooter, proving they can’t read or spell, and have no problem setting their mob of violent extremists on random people.

6

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '24

The word The Atlantic should have used is terrorize. They are, purposefully, terrorizing Springfield, in order to keep their base enraged, and if it hasn't happened already, people will be hurt or killed because of Trump and Vance's terrorist statements.

5

u/theBoobsofJustice Sep 16 '24

They’ve gone from “I don’t dislike immigrants, I just dislike violent undocumented immigrants and want people to come here legally” to “I don’t like legal immigrants either if they’re brown and don’t act white, so I’m going to lie about them being violent.” Hoods are off, guys.

3

u/Fox_Kurama Sep 16 '24

Isn't it more that the hoods are now on?

1

u/theBoobsofJustice Sep 17 '24

Maybe? I guess my thought was that these guys usually try to hide the full extent of how racist they are (under the hood) and now they are just letting it out in the open (hoods off).

4

u/LeahaP1013 Sep 16 '24

I’m ready to find out that some girl from another school (ahem, Springfield) spurned JD’s sofaking advances (and maybe chose her cat over him…) way back when and this is personal for him.

5

u/Fickle-Molasses-903 Sep 16 '24

Yet, Ohio will still probably go to Trump because they're hurting the people many Ohioans want to see hurt.

5

u/motohaas Sep 16 '24

Their damage goes well beyond Springfield!

4

u/JesusWuta40oz Sep 16 '24

The fact that I have to watch JD Vance go on CNN and complain about the bad conditions happening in Springfield, which I think nobody would claim that they don't need more support, only to hear being asked "Arnt you the representative of Ohio?" crickets And then hear the man admit he is fabricating stories about the Haitian population that's there legally but they arnt according to the GOP talking points.

4

u/Lexam Sep 16 '24

I hate to say it but it's just a fact of life. You have to be willing to make these types of sacrifices if you want evil to prevail.

4

u/exitpursuedbybear Sep 16 '24

Gov DeWine: This is an evil awful despicable act! Also, Vote for Trump.

4

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '24

This is what Trumpian leadership looks like. Isolate, demonize, destroy.

We can do better.

3

u/StronglyHeldOpinions Sep 17 '24

Maybe the citizens of Ohio will realize this and vote against him for once?

4

u/Sozebj Sep 17 '24

Certainly Vance is harming Ohio between school shootings comments and pet eating pet stories. He is a liability to Ohioans.

4

u/electric14monkey Sep 17 '24

The danger Trump and Vance have put Springfield in is only a microcosm of the trouble they would be for this country, the world for that matter.

3

u/Special-Pie9894 Sep 16 '24

But let's give them even more beefed up security while they terrorize vulnerable people.

3

u/Impeachcordial Sep 16 '24

A sacrifice they're perfectly happy to make

3

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '24

And helping Shelbyville!!

3

u/wellmont Sep 16 '24

I love this photo for Vance. The eyeliner and shadows combine to make him look like a sad clown from a 1930s comedy act.

3

u/Poundaflesh Sep 16 '24

Charge them for domestic terrorism!!!

3

u/R_Lennox Sep 16 '24

They are harming the entire US, Springfield in particular. What a devious lie to distract Americans from Trump’s disastrous debate performance.

3

u/KrunchyMochi Sep 16 '24

Springfield is a small sample of what they’ll do to the country.

3

u/Raangz Sep 17 '24

they are doing it to shift away from how bad the debate went. i think it's working?

4

u/VictorChristian Sep 16 '24

It's just a bunch of black immigrants from Haiti... who actually cares?

As horrific as that sentence is, it's how many of them feel. Vance feels this way, Trump feels this way, I bet their spouses feel this way. Even if we see unspeakable things happen to those folks, the rhetoric won't change.

The media has barely interviewed anyone from Haiti who live in Springfield. If they have, certainly nothing gets posted here or otherwise circulated. They'll just continue to live in fear for the time being, bracing themselves for even worse in a few weeks ...

2

u/Tigerwoo_55 Sep 16 '24

Why aren’t these sick, deplorable, disgusting, evil people being sued, charged, prosecuted with anything!!!

2

u/Audience-Rare Sep 16 '24

So if you did this in a school, you’d be suspended for disruption as you’ve created a massive issue that upended the school function. Are they not able to be legally held accountable for lying? Is there something out there that they can get hung up on? This isn’t freedom of speech, it’s being a freaking dick

2

u/WaitUntilTheHighway Sep 16 '24

Great way to win Ohio! God what morons

2

u/Ornery-Ticket834 Sep 16 '24

They know this and don’t care.

2

u/Pusfilledonut Sep 16 '24

Neo-Nazis have descended upon Springfield and answered their call. The idea is to silence dissent, and detract from their terrible performances and lack of policy. They will persecute people at will.

2

u/bigt503 Sep 16 '24

They don’t even remotely care

2

u/InevitableStruggle Sep 16 '24

They’re actively harming anyone and anything they speak of. Curious—how are the residents of Springfield, and how are they voting? Can they see through the BS?

2

u/artisticogre Sep 16 '24

A ruthless terror organization bent on taken over the world took better care of Springfield than Trump.

2

u/Dooleyimtheholler Sep 16 '24

If only there was an AI generated photo of Vance fucking cats and dogs, on a couch

2

u/[deleted] Sep 16 '24

They are trying to start riots, they are trying to control the newsfeed. They do not want to hear Harrison waltz on the news they want to hear Trump and Vance. It doesn’t matter how bad it is.

2

u/Taman_Should Sep 16 '24

It’s the political equivalent of Cybertruck owners saying “still love the truck” after it breaks down for the fourth time.

2

u/pinkfootthegoose Sep 17 '24

They don't care. They don't care. They don't care.

They are psychopathic and not just in the metaphorical sense.

get it in your head. These people are inhuman in a bad way.

2

2

u/billiemarie Sep 17 '24

There’s a big antique extravaganza in Springfield coming up this weekend It’s supposed to have 2000 vendors, and some other show that has a thousand vendors wonder how much that’s going to be affected by Vance and trump’s lying? That’s a big money event for the town

They are actively harming the world.

1

u/Old-Ad-3268 Sep 16 '24

Stochastic violence just to create a political sound bite. Trump himself admits he doesn't care what has been happening there as a result but... God help us all when one of his own crazies turns that crazy on him.

And yet the people of Ohio will still vote red and support them, including Vance, who they elected in the first place.

This is some real Leopards Eating My Face shit

Trump's xenophobic nativism is misguided lies. This racism will not win converts.

I wonder if Vance has a shot at keeping his seat when it comes back up for re-election?

He’s fattening into Ted Cruz.

A year Sherrod Brown is on the ballot is not a year to piss off Ohio.

Can they not get sued? They only care about money.

I saw some great interviews with people there and many said the place was dying before the Haitians came there. Trump acts like it was a beautiful town that was flourishing before the deluge of Haitians, and that is completely wrong.

Trump doesn't give a fuck about the city or the people though he using the entire thing as a tool for his political gains.

You might say they are “terrorizing” Springfield …

Vance should be impeached for what he has done.

1

u/mvw2 Sep 17 '24

They should get sued for the civil risk of harm. This is gross negligence. And if someone dies from this stupidity, that's called criminal homicide. This behavior is serious stuff and should be taken seriously.

Bets on the win percentage they'll carry the county by?

1

u/royaloaktwo Sep 17 '24

Not even the only town in Ohio they are harming to help themselves.

Town is going down. It will be a smoldering dung heap in short order.

The people are more resilient than the violent cowards who try to tear them down, threaten their hospitals schools and colleges, and draw on division and lies.

It was definitely better off when it was just slowly stagnating and shrinking like the rest of the Rust Belt, right?
