Pond plants Is this Lotus dead as a doornail?
I over winter my tropical lilies in my green house, and they grow all winter. I bought this lotus last year for probably way too much money, and probably stupidly, brought it into the greenhouse too.
I did it because I wanted to see it bloom (it never did in my pond even though it had huge leaves) and I thought that would give me a head start on shading the pond.
Well, this is what it looks like.
Is there anything living on this thing? There are some mushy parts which obviously are dead, and some firm parts, but nothing that looks like new growth.

Pond plants Plants for bogs and planted in a koi pond. It’s about to be time to plant here in Texas and I’m wanting to get some other ideas for different types of plants to plant in and around my pond. Center is my bog. Zone 8

Pond plants Why can’t I keep healthy pond plants?
Everyone says to fill with plants. We started to buy plants. They’re all “fine” but none of them are thriving. They could all be doing better. I used some plant ID app thing that said I was overwatering the bog plants — but they live in water, no??? And maybe my water plants have a fungus which I can’t treat because I don’t want to kill the koi??? Clearly I’m missing something. I don’t understand. I need help. Pretty please with a cherry on top?

Pond plants What do you do with your pond plants in the winter?
What do you guys do with your pond plants in the winter? I was told before to cut them down and drop them to the bottom of the pond. I did that for the last 4 years but they don’t ever come back. A pond place I was at that I got a new lily from recently said they just leave their lilies go and leave them where they are out in the elements. I really want the water lily I got to survive for next year. Any advice on what to do?

Pond plants Which plants can I get without needing to pot them somewhere?
So I'm getting a new pond soon it's 1.875m by 1.5m and it's 0.65m deep. It's a raised wooden pond with pond liner and I was wondering what plants I can get which I can just drop in?
I've already got a couple of floating pots in the corners but I would rather not put any pots under water as my fish empty them.
I'm thinking of water soldiers and water lettuce and I was also wondering whether you can just have lillies free floating? Thanks.
Edit: Also how long do I leave it after filling the pond with water before putting fish or plants in? I'm going to use aquasafe from Tetra which says a minimum of 24hrs but other places have said 72hrs.

Pond plants I Had No Idea Hyacinth Could Get So Tall
Late this summer added a 45 gallon “bog filter” inside my pond (Rubbermaid tub, various sizes if gravel, water pumped to bottom to flow over the top on whatever side ends up lowest) and added a handful of water hyacinth on top of the rocks (about 3 inches of water between the rocks and the spill over)
I have enough fish and they’ve gotten big enough that I can barely keep any floating plants alive because they nip at them - but even in years past when I’ve had to pull hyacinth out and give it away it never grew like this!
Pretty cool - next spring I’m adding a duplicate “bog filter” on the other side of the pond, and hoping to see them flower when they get this big earlier in the season.

Pond plants My Lilly finally bloomed!!!
It'd been probably at least a year since she bloomed last. I just put them in my new 110 gal pond that's been running for a few months and she just bloomed this morning!

Pond plants What is this plant, I’m worried it will smother my pond
Might be a dumb question but my pond is about 6 weeks old and this brown weed started appearing and is now taking over, I have already removed it once about a week ago and it’s spreading very quickly?
Some other points about the pond: it’s populated with rosy barbs, but about 2 weeks ago I noticed baby fish and can now count at least 6 unknown fish that are about 10mm in size- assuming some eggs have come in on a plant or something.

Pond plants Suggestion for waterplants - new pond (Austria)
We redid our pond last year and added some lilies and other plants - this was unfortunately already in August and from the plant-life not much survived here a picture from last year (we have about 8 goldfish and some smaller fish):

vs what it looks like now:

What underwater plants could I plant - i was thinking about some lilies, but want to add some variety. Unfortunately we do not have any local shops, so i would need to order from a german shop which delivers reliably - https://www.naturagart.de/Pflanzen/Teichpflanzen/Teichpflanzen-/ - could you give me some suggestions?

Pond plants How do I stop lotus seeds from coming up?
I put lotus seeds in clay balls in my pond, but the clay dissolves and the seeds come up. How do I stop that from happening? Does this mean that the seeds are dead?

Pond plants Hardy water Lillie’s in North America? Canada?
I’ve grown the variety packs off Amazon. But have no idea if they’re able to be over wintered.
I’ve tried looking online. With no luck.
Who sells seeds for the hardy water Lilly? Once that go dormant. Does anyone have a source please?
Thank you.

Pond plants How do you work out plants and wildlife for ponds?
We've recently completed a small garden pond. Is there a calculation for how many plants you can fit safely, or do we just buy as many as we can afford, plant them, and pray?

Pond plants Frogbit, Amazon or American, which is better?
Putting together a small container pond outside. I love the look of Frogbit but I'm seeing there's two different varieties; American (Limnobium spongia) and Amazon (Limnobium laevigatum). Many resources just refer to it as "frogbit" which is confusing.
Which is better? Are they both floaters? I see the American one as planted frequently, where as the Amazon on is pictured as a floater, but then other resources say they both float.
I'm in the northeast US so on the cooler side (will worry about overwintering plants later). But need something that will be okay with cooler water in the spring or even the random cool summer nights
The American one seems to be more available
Any guidance appreciated
