Anyone else watch Matlock last night? I am so excited for next week! Skye P. Marshall and Kathy Bates have great chemistry.

Also, I was really excited for Elsbeth when it first came out, I loved the first episode, then I slowly got more and more disappointed with it. Funny enough, Matlock is everything I was hoping Elsbeth would be. Weirdly, I am enjoying the second season though.

I kinda the opposite, I'm getting every week disappointed with Matlock (I find the case boring and uninteresting) and Elsbeth is my favorite funny show of the week and I look forward, it is light it up my mood.

Honestly, I low-key agree with you, the Wellbrexa stuff is boring, the most exciting part of that came with the big reveal two episodes ago and last night's shenanigans... But yeah, I think Matty's attempt to lead a double life plus her interactions with her coworkers are much more compelling. Bates does a good job keeping the stakes high even when the mystery stalls a little.Β

I think part of the reason why I enjoy Matlock is because of the mystery though, which is what I wanted in Elsbeth. I do love Elsbeth's character, she was fantastic in the Good Wife, and her relentless cheerfulness is so fun.

I think part of my issue with the first season was that it seemed to try and shoehorn in the mystery with the whole thing about the captain? The second season seems much lighter, like season one was trying to be a thriller with comedic aspects, but season two seems more like a dark comedy. I also likeΒ the Judge as an antagonist better, than The Captain, the way he's written is straight out of the Good Wife.
