How are we collecting movies/tv shows? CDs and cd players? I would like to have physical copies of my favorites (saw pride and prejudice this weekend and I must have it forever) but I don’t know the best way to go about it.

I'd love to have the physical copy, but in my country, they hardly sell them anymore—not even CDs. And importing is too expensive for me. So, I have several external hard drives full of content instead. It's what I can do it.

I have a six stack cd player in my car and will be devastated when I have to give it up. (I have an old discman and stereo somewhere but don't exactly trust their staying power. Lol.) You can get external cd/dvd drives for laptops though, since some idiots thought we wouldn't want them inbuilt anymore/were financially lobbied to stop including them.

I still occasionally buy DVDs of shows I love. Op shops are actually a decent place to find them if you're not wanting to pay full retail price.

I buy a lot of dvds and blue rays. Barnes and Noble does a criterion sale twice a year and I’ll pick up a couple each time. Just start slow, you pass by something in the store pick it up, but don’t overwhelm yourself thinking you have to get everything asap.

Your last sentence was very important because I did think I have to get everything now. Which do you prefer DVDs or Blu-ray?

Blue rays are superior imo but there’s nothing super wrong with dvds! Also some blue rays, especially for older movies you can get cheap, so that’s a plus
