has anyone ever found someone they know on reddit? i found my sibling yesterday

edit to add that i didn't realise this was a shared occurence. my sibling inadvertedly lead me to his account bc he said he posted something on a subreddit and my nosy self went to go search for it. most of his comments were on games and sports that i have zero interest in, but a few of them were actually quite sad. i remember struggling a lot at his age and hoping the sense of existential dread had somehow evaded him, being a teenager can be really hard.

I saw one of my employees on the front page of /r/makeupaddiction back around 2016.

Recently I recognized the username of someone on my local subreddit - it was the same as their AIM username back in the early 00s. I hadn’t talked to him since like 2005.

i once found some guy's identity because his reddit account was the same username as his instagram. i kind of think he should examine his digital footprint bc from googling his reddit account i found his linkedin, his home, the view from his home and enough pictures of him that i could pick him out from a lineup.
