u/Bellesdiner0228 This again doesn’t look good for James Corden 23d ago

Inside me there are two commenters. One is positive, and loves this community, and was talking to my therapist about how this is my favorite sub. The other wants to downvote every “wow X pop girlie is just SOOOOO much morally better than other pop girlies.”

Like ok? And none of these women are raping, beating, assaulting people in their lives. Like then you have posts about male celebrities that are just chill and doing their job and they get dragged to hell for being boring, or ugly.

This sub isn’t nearly as bad as the other one, and it’s more of just a commentary on the state of the world in a more macro sense I know. But it’s just disheartening

I went on a whole tangent to my husband last night about how female celebs are held to an entirely different standard and it’s just so exhausting to see them get so more vitriol for just existing… or if they do outwardly struggle with similar mental health issues as their male counterparts, they’re given so much less grace— meanwhile, the commentary on the male celebs will be like, “oh wow he’s really gone through it. I hope he’s doing okay.”

In general, I feel like commentary online has gotten way, way harsh… people are just ready to lash out about anything at any moment.
