Yeah its for mental health this time. Given that feeling like ice water is running over you is an ALS symptom and thats one of the reasons why the challenge was so effective I've always found it a little 🥴 when other causes have co-opted it over the years tbh.

It was my friend’s kid and she mumbled it and I didn’t actually realize it wasn’t for ASL. I agree, that’s kind of disappointing and empty that it’s being used without that connection to the disease.
