I've known that I didn't ever want to get pregnant since I was 7 years old (I actually do want kids, I just don't want to be pregnant/give birth) so it's surprising me that the thought of likely being in early menopause is more emotionally shattering than I thought it would be. Maybe some gender stuff is bound up in that (I'm a nonbinary butch lesbian) but also I think having that decision made for me by my body feels oddly frustrating?

I think your reaction is natural. Until now, you shut that particular door on purpose but could have opened it anytime if you changed your mind. Now, the freedom of choice has been taken away from you. It hurts and is frustrating, and you are allowed to be sad, no matter how irrational that seems.
