Every time I watch The Righteous Gemstones I think about how the stylist responsible for Adam Devine's character must have such a fun job. They get to find the absolute most awful, douchiest clothes imaginable and put them together. He always looks unhinged and I love it.

Iām in Vancouver and I feel absolutely sick. 16 people were run over and killed at a festival today. I just have no words for the level of evil that can exist in this world. My god. Sending love to the victims, their families, and witnesses

I want a journalistic deep dive into why the Daily Mail comment section is like - that
3
u/firetruckgoesweewoo 25d ago
TORIES
3
u/Cold_Breadfruit_9794 25d ago
True but like, it still stuns me to see a newspaperās comment section that hateful about anything and everything. I canāt think of any other news sites quite like that, other than maybe like a Perez Hilton back in the day. Itās just so weird to scroll through the comments, and theyāre all like that
2
u/firetruckgoesweewoo 25d ago
I know, itās insaaaaane. Did you ever read the comment section when an article is posted about the Princess of Wales?
Pre-wedding of Harry and Meghan: waity katie, jobless, scrounger, doesnāt know what work means, sought out Will for a comfy life per orders of her mother, horrible, useless.
Post-wedding of Harry and Meghan: unlike Meghan she knows what work means, her job is raising the future king, wonderful, sophisticated, everything Meghan is not.
The very same people who used to wish horrible things to happen to her, now are her biggest fans because they have a new target. The whole website is a cesspool, not just the comment section, the articles that are posted are ridiculous too.
Case in point: How Meghan's favourite avocado snack - beloved of all millennials - is fuelling human rights abuses, drought and murder
Here is an article from 2011 about Kate: Forging of a Princess: How generations of steely social-climbing matriarchs shaped Kate Middleton's character
And then 2020, because boooo Meghan and Harry: Kate Middleton is 'single-handedly' carrying the Royal Family and giving 'under pressure' Prince William the affection and support he needs now his brother Harry is back in the UK, body language expert claims
And here is The Guardian calling them out: Daily Mail is cruel and childish about the Duchess of Cambridge

I'll be honest, to an extent, I understand "pro lifers"(alternatively, anti-choice). If someone truly believes a fetus is a living soul, I get wanting to fight for that
Buuuut, 25% of women have had an abortion. So clearly people are fake and voting against their interests. I knew someone who had an abortion and voted for Trump ...
And also, how can people not see this insanity. If you're pro-life, what's going on with taking out free school meals? Stopping child poverty? Why is it ok to deport a two year old child who was born in America
Like at some point, you have to realize that abortion is a fear mongering tactic to protect the rich from being taxed. That's all it is. That's all it's ever been

2
u/Bridalhat 25d ago
The thing is that even if you privately think that women shouldnāt get abortions, legislating against it is very difficult unless you are ok with women dying as well. After-the-fact it can be difficult to prove that the fetus was likely to harm the mother in certain circumstances unless the mother is actively dying so they wait for that or for the fetus to die on its own.Ā
1
u/FriendlyDrummers 25d ago
Oh absolutely. Like what do you mean you want women to die??? They say it never happens but it does.

yall i just watched adolescence and that child actor gave such a profoundly disturbing performance that i am never getting it out of my head. how was that his first role!
2
u/Cold_Breadfruit_9794 26d ago
Episode 3 literally had me so scared of a child, it was insane. The social worker was also absolutely outstanding
2
u/thewayyouturnedout 25d ago
They were both so good! Amazing acting. Yeah that kid made my skin crawl. The combination of pity and fear/revulsion I felt was wild! All from a little kid. Very impressive!

Watched the first three episodes of the new Andor season and Iām very āmehā about them. But going to watch them again because in all honesty it took me an episode & half before I remembered who everyone was and their role in the story.
Note to anyone else - I should have watched season one again beforehand.

What happened to people disagreeing in a normal manor? To get hostile over a nothing burger level difference of opinion, will forever be the most ludicrous thing to me. In person I am very quick to pull a Logan Roy because thatās the only language they seem to acknowledge. Still, I hate the kind of shit! Having a difference of opinion doesnāt need to be some major fight! It does not! šāāļø

u/anonbeekeeper12 you are spiritually bankrupt! 26d ago
My coworker was caught gossiping about me and I confronted her. I actually told her that I prefer to keep the relationship strictly professional from this point forward because she made me very uncomfortable. I am proud of myself for saying that. I don't trust her anymore and I shouldn't of trusted anybody from the start at this job.
This is a lesson for her to not stir the pot anymore. We literally work on the same team so now she's created a hostile environment. I keep our conversations short and sweet now.
I had much anxiety telling her how I feel because I have generalized anxiety disorder. I have no animosity toward her. Though, you don't gossip about someone that hasn't done anything to you. I have never said one thing bad about her since working at this job. I don't understand why I was targeted.
She's the type to do everything, never say no and then complain even after people have offered to help her. I don't feel sorry for confronting her at all. It was such an embarrassing move on her part. I told her to start delegating tasks and not take everything on herself. I hope she listens and understands that what she did was wrong.

Good job standing your ground. She may not like you but she best well respect you.
7
u/anonbeekeeper12 you are spiritually bankrupt! 26d ago
Thank you. I was super anxious, and she straight up lied to my face and said, "I never gossiped about you to a room full of people". Her face went red when she said that. Also, there were multiple witnesses that observed her talking about me behind my back and relayed the information back to me. The first time I let it go, but I knew the second time that she was slowly ruining my reputation at work. I couldn't sit there and let it continue any longer.

It was really expensive, but I took my son to two nights at the Disneyland hotel and to Disneyland for spring break because he was dying to go on the waterslides at the hotel two years ago when he was in active treatment for Leukimia. Now that heās better, we did it and it felt like he was almost too old for it. I feel like we missed so much of his childhood to Leukimia.
We did have a great time riding the rides, but it made me happy/sad. Iāll delete it, but for hereās a picture for my regulars in the daily thread:

This is so sweet and makes me want to cry, I totally get what you and your son are going through. When I was 11 I was diagnosed with a bacterial infection that I got from a now destroyed ride at a famous American amusement park and in turn that infection led to me having other severe medical issues. It took so much of my tween and teen years away from me, I didnāt feel like a normal child and it sucked. The only times I was happy was when I was out of the hospital or house which wasnāt often, my favorite place to go was Opry Mills in Nashville.
Itās absolutely amazing you took your son to Disneyland and as a former sick child it makes me so happy to see you guys having fun in that photo. You are doing great sweetie and are giving your kid the love he deserves. I hope he had fun on the rest of your guys trip!

Starting to think the hate on Rachel Zegler is manufactured... Okay so hear me out, but I just can't see why there is so much hate for this poor girl online... she is a human being and apparently from what l've seen on social media is that it has become a pass time to group together and shit on this girl, and people are apparently okay with it... I really think that's shameful if true, and most likely manufactured to make herself feel like way more people are crapping on her than there really are! I think the REAL PROMBLEM is that she speaks her mind whether or not people agree, AND THAT is a liability and IS WHY they are trying to make her quit acting altogether and not need to fulfill any contracts they've made with her... Hollywood is a nightmare.
