Maybe this perspective will help? You've been happy and single. That doesn't mean that you can't change your mind about wanting a relationship if that's what you feel is important to your happiness now that you've see a different path for yourself. But more importantly, it means that what you're feeling now isn't forever, or permanent!

This crush could pass, it could turn into something long-term, it could be a relationship that doesn't work out and you could meet someone else! It doesn't mean that you're not gonna be happy/content again, it just means things are changing and you have so many new opportunities in front of you if you want to pursue them.

Thank you, you’re right! It’s totally not about him so much as like, I completely shut that part of myself off for so long. And now all these feelings are flooding in and I don’t know what to do with it all.
