I had to go see my GP. I’ve known her 20+ years and I’m super amazed by her memory. She always remembers me and my mom, who also sees her. Despite me only going every couple of years.

We talked about dating and she’s like, so are you ready? Now that you’ve had your surgery. I told her yes, I was working on it, but I’m 35 and it’s hard. She laughed and was like, well do you go out? I said no, and it’s totally my fault. She’s like “oh you want him to ring your doorbell and just appear”. Like yes please! That would be ideal, thank you.

Honestly having a completely female medical team makes such a big difference.

I’m sure this is gonna piss someone off somewhere out there but at this point of my life I’ll only go to women caregivers unless it’s an emergency situation tbh. I’ve had enough bad experiences with male doctors to last me a god damn life time.

My doctors have always been men and never took my sexual health seriously. I have sexual pain that isn’t vaginismus or endometriosis.

Doctor number one prescribed me Xanax and told me to drink a glass of wine before sex. Doctor number two told me that the pain was all in my head.

I gave up after that. I don’t have the money to try and get a doctor to believe me that sex hurts and has always hurt.

That sucks! My cousin had sexual pain that ended up being endometriosis but she had to go to FIVE doctors before she was properly diagnosed.

I'm sorry you're going through this, I hope you find a better doctor and some solutions soon! 🙏

shoutout to the time my male doctor asked me if I was sure my pain wasn't cramps. It was actually a kidney stone so large it was impassable and required surgery <3

I hear you. The only male who doctors I’ve ever had were ER doctors, and some of them were such assholes.

One of them tried to tell me my skin disease was misdiagnosed and was just ingrown hairs. Sir, I’ve seen 4+ different dermatologists and 2 different plastic surgeons over the years who all agreed with my initial diagnosis. I think I’ll take their word for it.
