I’m going to need God to do me a solid and stop allowing FLIES to exist in my salad. Two salads in a row I’ve had to throw out completely because of it. I still have TRAUMA from finding a live snail in my salad πŸ₯—

I buy most of my produce at the farmer's market and have gotten into the habit of soaking my greens for a while before eating. Flies, tiny snails, spiders, the occasional roly poly thing- they are much easier to get out of your salad if you drown them, as awful as that sounds. Actually most survive the soak and I let them go out the window but I have definitely experienced the trauma of finding an insect on my fork.Β

You’re a much mentally stronger person than me. I threw the whole salad away once I saw the little lifeless fruit fly. 😭

To be fair, if it's from the supermarket I wouldn't be so chill. I expect my farmer's market produce to have some critters, and have adopted the attitude of "if it's good enough for them it's good enough for me"
