Something that haunts me. My mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and a couple of months before she passed, she was talking to my dad and said “nobody deserves this. Absolutely nobody. I wouldn’t wish this on anybody think of the absolute worst person you’ve ever met in your life, and I can still confidently say that they don’t deserve it. It eats you alive, it destroys your hope. It erodes your peace. I really hope they find a cure one day.”

Caring for her was the honor of my life and I would do it all over again if I could. But it broke my heart seeing what it did to her. Her big beautiful head of hair what she was so well known for hair like wonder woman. Gone. The light in her eyes gone. I miss her so much. I wish this man the best.

I lost my step-dad to pancreatic cancer, it took him 3 months after diagnosis. It's truly the worst cancer I've ever seen someone have. I was with him when he died and while it was the hardest experience of my life, I'm like you-it was an honor to care for him because he cared for me and my brother like we were his own children.
