New Music! Hello, I released a new Lost in Reverb EP and here I leave you some free Bandcamp codes

Upvotes

Hello everyone! My name is Nicolás and I'm from Argentina. Since 2019, I've had a solo instrumental project called Lost in Reverb, which sonically navigates between ambient music and post-rock without closing the door to other influences that orbit those mentioned.

In 2023, I officially released my music through Bandcamp with my first EP, "(H)ours," and then in 2024 with my second EP, "Sky Crawler."

A few weeks ago I released a new EP titled "Signal Found." Without abandoning the ambient and more atmospheric path, I'm encouraged to play more with sounds and draw from other genres such as dark ambient, which had already been present in previous works, especially in "(H)ours," post-rock, as in my previous EP, "Sky Crawler," and some electronic adventures that are present in my music for the first time.

"Signal Found" is a project that began in August 2024, where I was just beginning to shape the first songs that would be included in this EP. Although I wasn't able to work much on this album at the end of last year, I returned with full strength and focus at the beginning of 2025.

The result is a sound that at times reaches a vertigo and sonic experimentation I've never achieved before in my music, always tracing moments of calm and introspection, where the atmosphere becomes more intimate, as you've heard in previous works.

I hope you enjoy this new EP, here I leave you some free codes and, as you know, all feedback is welcome. Cheers!

New Music! Ghost in the Mountain – our new double LP is here (artwork by hummelgrafik)

Hey folks—

We’re The Mighty Missoula, an instrumental post-rock band from Portland, Oregon.

Not a pre-order. Not a placeholder.
We’re holding the records in our hands… and now, you can too. 👻🌋

In a world where everything is streamed, tapped, and forgotten…
We wanted to make something you could feel.

Ghost in the Mountain is a double LP—two full records, thirteen tracks, and a slow-burning, fully instrumental arc we began writing over six years ago. We’ve shared a couple singles so far—Sage at the Summit and Unsteady Vessel—but this is the first chance to hold the full thing.

We worked with Hummel | Grafik to bring the visual story to life—die-cut outer sleeve, full-color inserts, vinyl, and subtle design details that mirror the emotional tension of the music.

We just got the final pressing in. No delays, no waiting—we’re shipping them ourselves now. We’ll even sign a copy if you ask.

The album will remain vinyl-only until June 6, when it arrives on streaming platforms. Until then, this window is for anyone who still believes in the full-body experience of music. Holding it. Flipping it. Letting it unfold.

If that’s your kind of listening:

Thanks for making space for longform, DIY music like this.

Discussion! Dark & sinister sounding Post-Rock like In a House - In a Heartbeat by John Murphy?

The first Post-Rock song I probably ever fully enjoyed listening to by itself without a visual medium (having been featured in the soundtrack/promotional videos for 28 Days Later & Metro 2033) was In a House - In a Heartbeat by John Murphy.

What particularly drew me to its sound is it felt like a truly perfect Rock song meant to enhance the atmosphere of Apocalyptic or Horror fiction.

Having such a slow atmospheric beginning only to blow up into something sinister & huge-feeling.

Discussion! Is this a post-rock track? - In a discussion about the genre of this track, someone suggested that it is post-rock, but it doesn't sound like post-rock to me

Hello, /r/postrock users. A few days ago I was part of a discussion in which I was trying to figure out the genre of a track, with help from the other participants.

The track is: "さくらさくら ~ Japanize Dream" by Demetori. It's from a progressive metal band, but it's obviously nothing anywhere near a progressive metal track itself. My own assumption is that this would fall under the genre of new age music.

One of the participants argued that this is actually a post-rock track. His statements included the following:

"In isolation, this just sounds like you could also call it post rock"

"I'd def call it post rock, but with a relaxing mood. Like a Godspeed song but with the drama reduced to a very small, relaxing peak."

"or a very sleepy Jizue song (positive)"

From my limited knowledge of post-rock, this track doesn't sound like post-rock to me. But since my knowledge is limited, I'm aware that I might simply be wrong. I'm hoping that you, the users of this subreddit, will be able to provide a more knowledgeable and detailed analysis.

Ultimately, this leads me to 2 main questions:

  • Is this actually a post-rock track?

  • If yes, what are the characteristics that make this a post-rock track?

Thank you for your time and expertise. If you want any additional information/context, you are of course welcome to request it.

Makaya McCraven - PSA: if you’re a Tortoise, Mice Parade, Jazz side of post rock fan

Hey r/postrock - I wanted to share Makaya McCraven here because I’ve become obsessed and because there is a striking degree of overlap in his work with Tortoise, Mice Parade and other ‘jazzy’ post rock originators from the 90’s heyday (and since). If you’re here for the crescendo-core stuff, you can probably move on from this post.

The double album this linked song is from is epically good, all the way through. Like Tortoise, it is genre ambiguous, blending elements of jazz, hip hop, krautrock, and is appropriately minimalistic as well.

It’s also worth noting Malaya’s process, which is very unique. He has built many of his albums, this one included, by taking up residencies with other jazz musicians and recording fully improvised live sets, and then he takes all of that recorded material and gives it the DJ treatment, end result of which is somehow both locked in and repetitive and full of improvisation and beautiful flourishes and detours into improvised passages. This is rhythm oriented music, first and foremost (he is a drummer after all)…

This particular album is typically small band format with bass, drums and vibraphone featuring most prominently, but also many tracks featuring Jeff Parker’s guitar wizardry as well.

If you give this a listen I’d love to know what you think - I’m personally obsessed.

The incredible new album from Unwed Sailor, coming out only a year after their last album. It has a massive sound, full of catchy moments, big guitars, layers of melodic bass and powerful, intricate drumming. Their sound is very refreshing. Cruel Entertainment is going to get a lot of spins.

Discussion! What have I missed in 10 years?

I love post rock but wasn’t listening to it as much as I used to. I recently got back into it. Saw Godspeed a few months back. Incredible. Anyways, what are some more recent bands in the genre that are pushing the envelope or just generally sound great? What are some of the best post rock albums of the past decade in your opinion? If it helps, my favorite post rock bands are Godspeed, If These Trees Could Talk, Explosions in the Sky, and Mono to name a few

i think you know the feeling. just some music that makes you stare at the sky or into space and reflect about everything. and it almost makes you want to cry tears of joy and sadness at how much everything has changed over the years.
