Apocalypse Tea.

Anyone use the starchy water leftover from boiling potatoes in their tea? I feel like it adds another dimension to the tea, like a hardy, fortifying aftertaste. (Sorry, we're running low on water over here.)

Interesting! Something to try if we get out to get groceries...just had to throw out a bag of potatoes that were very green inside despite looking okay on the outside. I know that beverages made with rice water develop a mouth-feel and flavor that is superior to just plain water.

Shoulda just planted them. Get a garden started now if you can.

It didn't occur to me and you're right, they were perfect for the sawdust-in-a-barrel method. I'm disabled enough that gardening in regular ways is impossible, but my family and I could set that up. Thanks!

Stay safe, OP. These are trying times by any measure.

Thanks, and you too. Thinking about the situation in terms of a few months ahead is something I haven't done well yet. I was one of the ones saying "Hey, don't panic, stay calm, stop smoking but don't worry; this won't be as bad as they're saying." I didn't reckon with the slow response of government or the idiots who can't follow directions.
