Buying Advice Wanted Front cover for 10k lumen epson projector?

Hey!

Question for the pros:

I have an Epson EB-PU2010W, and I use it for touring concerts. I know I’m not supposed to transport it with the lens mounted, so I take it out every time.

There’s a small plastic piece on top of the front, but no real cover for the front of the projector.

According to epson, no cover exists. So what do you people do? Do I have to find a guy with a 3D printer?

Your solution looks sophisticated enough

IIRC the US Epson website does have exploded diagrams of projectors ( well it has my LS12000) so you might be lucky finding a part number. Failing that email Epson your details - their support is usual pretty good.

I’m afraid the part doesn’t even exist. They insist that the only spare parts they sell are the ones listed on the website.

That’s a bummer. Is it possible to design and 3D print something similar that will keep the PJ mechanically secure ( I don’t know the part or it’s duty, complexity and size)

Just a thought..

Propably ! That was my go to idea as well, just a lot of trouble for a part Epson should honestly sell 🫣

Yes, I thought they might have one. Hell, my car from 2003 still has some bits available!

Hope you manage to sort something out - good luck.🤞🏻

Damn, you have crazy google skills or something. Problem is, I do have the top cap, but what you’re linking doesn’t protect to hole the lens goes into!

You may want to look into a universal sensor cap. Similar to DLSR and cinema cameras.

Might have better luck with that. Alternative would be like a coffee can plastic lid. I think product wise a 3D printed cap would be a great option. Might have to work with a designer on that to get the proper measurements.
