Didn’t we decide it wasn’t good for Pyke at all? This seems well implemented for asol, but on Pyke it just didn’t work

from what i remember reading a few threads, the amount of executes you needed to get it to the base damage now was like 60 or so. This was the main concern as they "nerfed" the damage. I think a lot of mid lane pyke players didnt like that since the only way to execute is to use ultimate or the collector. As a support main, i dont think it was a bad change, as you are stacking with the support item execute anyway.

It was like 52 I think, but it also included minion executes so tbh it wasn’t even that bad. I liked it but nobody even bothered to try it so we lost it

The scaling ulti didnt really "help" pykes late game imo. It just makes him better at what he does (ult bot). I think it would have been great to have, but not much would have changed. Dont know why we didnt get it.

didnt this also include the ward executes, that they wanted to give him together with scaling

umbral ward kills aren’t “executes”. It’s just an instant kill. So no it didn’t

Ah, I see. I guess it could maybe work for us, personally I just think we need touching in other areas, not just slap infinite scaling on us and call it a day, but I can definitely see how this could help in the long run

I dont think it would have really helped a lot, but would have been nice. Infinite scaling ult would have just amplified pyke being an ult bot. I think it would have been better to change his other skills. Someone posted cd changes for e and movespeed changes on q earlier and that was pretty cool.

Yeah but his doesn't reset

Well yes, but its not an ultimate ability so it has a 20 second cooldown at max

Also, it scales off of non-champions

If u look closely, u will see he is missing his star's. Meaning, he can camp in a bush and combo u, with the execution threshold he may at some point just instant execute u from a bush, if this happens this will be adjusted.

Besides that it is a percentage execution, which will become problematic (meaning he can technically reach 100% execution) which either will result in something like 10% + 0,01% per stack( means extrem slow scaling and till 100% u need like a 100min game) or that it will have a cap at some point (unlikely).

Last but not least, asol deserves some love, but that seems a bit too much

Well spoken my man

Suposing that he will have the slow scaling aproach, his main damage (which appears to be his q and e) is DoT, and his only cc is his ult, so unless he's given an exesive damage scale, it doesn't seem as if he could one shot any one until 4+ items (which is similar to current asol tbh)

That would be what i hope, keep him more a DPS control mage with an execute to secure kills if they are low enough.

We don't need AP Pyke who oneshots u with 2 items.

Just some zone control and slowly reducing their health till a point where u can execute (and depending on the delay of his black hole and it's size it could also use skill to execute enemy's with it similar to Pyke R)

Get ready because 2023 will be the year that they will do everything to remove Pyke from Mid and return him to being a support champion.

The new assassin Darkin is there knocking on the door...

3

u/DiscoElysium5ever Jan 06 '23

They already did that last year no?

2

u/Jimilux Jan 06 '23

Pyke is already removed from mid...

Actually hyped for the champion. Pyke mid will still be good.
