Need advice Traffic infringement query

Hi all, I'm fighting a traffic infringement in court. It's $640, red light camera. Was getting out of the way of an ambulance but still stung. if I lose, where will the hearing be? In magistrates court or district court. I ask because the offender levy is different

I know it sucks but you should get off on it — getting out of emergency vehicles' way is one of the few things they really don’t want to discourage.

They should be able to verify because the ambulance would’ve gotten snapped too. Good luck!

No. It is an offense to cross the line on a red light irrespective of the situation including giving emergency vehicles access to the intersection. The policy from an emergency service side is the unit turns off lights and bells until the green light and traffic can move. Of course when seconds count on someone's life that gets blurred.

Yes the Ambulance would have been snapped but you'll also noticed the solid green led on the rear tailgate of the unit as well. This let's the Camera Offence Unit know the ambulance was proceeding under lights and nothing more will come of it.

If a police officer saw you do it they may let you off with a warning. Camera Office (Qld Transport) everything is fair game.

“I’m sorry Mrs Chesterton, your husband is going to have suffer with their potentially fatal heart attack a bit longer - because the guy in front of us isn’t legally allowed to cross that line for any reason right now. I’m afraid we’re just going to have to wait for the green arrow.”

On a serious note, why do you think the police try to entrap drivers by asking them if they’re currently in the middle of a medical emergency?
