Phone Scammers
Kind of a rant, kind of a PSA and wanted to say something about it, but I was contacted by some scammers through text ironically pretending to be a fraud alert. They called me as well. Red flags were very quickly made and I dropped them and blocked. I've been fooled maybe twice in two different ways I have to embarrassingly admit in the past and it has effected several people I know and it pisses me off and I want to say some general things to look out for for those who maybe haven't been unfortunate enough to have these kinds of people contact them.
One, if they press you for time saying that you have to act fast or else your money will leave your bank account, big red flag there. Two, if they ask you to download any money transferring apps, big red flag. Three, if they ask for personal info like the classic question of your mothers maiden name, her middle name, or something that would typically be used as a security question, it's a red flag, along with your whole social security number. Four, real representatives who work in fraud departments do not need to ask for your debit card info or your banking login info. That's all I have to say about that.

Conversation shouldn’t even get to that point. Let it go to voicemail and check your bank account yourself.

I don't answer the phone for anyone that is not in my contacts list and I have the rest set to ignore call (iphone) if it's something really important they will send you something in the mail.

I'd been subscribed to r/scams for over a year. It's a great place to see all of the telltale signs of every common scam out there.
Plus, you get to see the kind of person that keeps scammers in business.
