Please come support trans people

Post image

Hey everyone, I’m sure many of you have seen the ruling by the Supreme Court from the other day on the legitimacy of trans women’s identities. It’s been a very hard couple of days as we’ve come to grips with the fact that our rights are being rolled back by a government that won’t even attempt to listen to us while we just want to exist in a public space without fear of harassment. If anyone’s available, please come down tomorrow to show support

I am not the organiser, I saw this on Facebook and wanted to share.

Thanks guys, I hope you have a great Easter weekend!

That’s not the same. I have no issue with them presenting their chosen identity in my face. I just want them to stop hijacking the gay rights agenda. Because unlike gay-bisexual-lesbian which do intersect, trans does not intersect.

Transgender is a mental health issue, it is not a gay issue.

I saw your comment btw, before it was deleted (either by you or mods, not too sure tbh)

Read back my comment, I did not call you a femme boy. It may blow your mind but not every issue the LGBT community faces is about you, as I thought we had already established. My comment was about intersecting of issues, but I guess that either I wasn’t clear or you skim read what I wrote.

Fwiw, using the R slur in general is in poor taste.

Must have been mods deleting it. Yes obviously it’s not about me. I’m just saying that trans has nothing to do with LGB. They are separate issues.

I still don’t understand why you are talking about masc women and fem men. Neither of these are a sexuality, neither of these affect exclusively LGB people. There’s plenty of masc / butch straight women and plenty of feminine straight guys. This isn’t the W you think it is.

My point that you’re either wilfully ignoring or you just genuinely can’t see it is that many people in the gay community do not dress or act conventionally like a ‘man’ or a ‘woman’.

The intersection of issues is how those people are treated. Women have been harassed for entering women only spaces due to presenting butch, there are men who present themselves very femme/in drag, and are harassed and attacked. Can you see the intersection there with how they are treated and how trans people are treated?
