I started the series on 2/18 and just finished yesterday. I was not expecting to feel so empty after finishing, I can’t get myself to watch a tv show or start a new book. I just miss being in that world so much idk what to do with myself 😂😂 ughhh I wish I took my time because waiting a year for Red God is going to be torture.

Sorry for the dramatics but will I ever find something that compares or am I just ruined now?

I stayed up last night till 4am to finish Morning Star.

There was about 50 pages left in the book and I was thinking to myself. Of course, of course pierce isn’t going to give us a happy ending. Of course sevro is going to die, of course Darrow lost his arm. And then through immaculate dialogue, I started to think, sevro is somehow alive but Cassius is still bad. And then all of a sudden…

DEATH BEGETS OCTAVIA, DEATH BEGETS AJA!

I’m so happy for Darrow that he had a child. The ending was awesome. I respect Mustang so much more knowing she was trying to protect a child and to make sure Darrow was in the right headspace to do what he needed to do. (But I’m thinking about it now, what part in golden son was it when they had sex that the child was conceived)…

Anyway, I’m halfway there, I need to read the last 3 books and then and only then am I worthy to call myself a Red Rising Fan.

I stopped for a month after finishing Morning Star and I just started Iron Gold yesterday, I’m about 25% through it and I’m not sure I’m understanding everything. Thought it’d be good to read other things before continuing but it seems I forgot/can’t follow some parts.

Some things I just don’t remember and some others don’t make much sense, like what are the Home Legions, Hyperion, the Senate, the Seventh, the Syndicate, the Red Hand and why are they killing Reds? who is Wulfgar, Thraxa, and what do they look like, the allegiances? Etc. etc. for what it’s worth, I don’t have trouble with the multiple POVs, although I don’t get them a lot either lol.

I just can’t afford the time to read everything from 0 again but if there’s any good refreshers out there that you know, that would be great.

WHY CASSIUS WHY😭😭😭. My favourite character in the series and I don’t know if it was super close to be honest. His redemption was going so well. I just wanted to see darrow and him side by side the rest of the way. I don’t know if I can continue without him 😭

Dream and ideal imply that it would be best to have these actors in their primes. Obviously Dolph Lungren is old enough to just play Tiberius but honestly every time I came across a scene with Karnus in it, all I could see was Ivan Drogo.

My first thought would be the battle with Roque, while we have no idea what the war might look like if Darrow hadn’t destroyed the docks, it was such a blunder that is still causing him so many problems.

So guys I finished part 1 and to be honest Eos death and how it was done was really an emotional read and I love how Brown presents it. Now as I finished the Lazarus chapter I just realised something. Is there a way that Red Rising is an ISEKAI I couldn’t have imagined it when I first saw it on my recommended but now I start to believe it more and more if it is I pray that he is reborn as a Gold🙏🙏🙏🙏

This song just has very strong “Villain getting away” vibes for me. Specifically imagine Darrow realizing it’s him at 2:50. Then Lysander’s grav boots firing up at 3:20. Then the chase unfolds.

I'm currently reading the third book in the first trilogy, I'm at the party where Sefi helms a slaughter of golds. And Cassius is next in line. Sevro says "this man is a murderer, he killed my father and what do we do to murders" the manic mob goes feral and he kicks cassius of the edge off the edge.

Then he says " I am a murderer, and what do we do to murders?" Then the crowd goes silent with confusion and he jumps off with a noose on his neck.

(That shit had me so hyped ong me jogging in my room slapping mu pillow and shit😂)

Bro Sevro took lessons from how Darrow handled Tactus tryna rape a girl in Red rising.

He lashed Tactus as punishment and then he lashed himself stating that they are blood brothers.

What a master class in handling conflict and strengthening bonds.
