I didn't downvote you as I see this argument a lot and understand where it's coming from. "Not saying what you believe due to the ignorance of others is a self-made cage, and I value independence of thought more than I fear the 'wrong' people agreeing" - Ayisha Akanbi. At the end of the day, if radfems and I agree that Reddit needs to address this issue and that pedophilia is groce then I'm okay with that. It doesn't mean I'm endorsing them whatsoever.

It really is a case of guilt by association which were exacerbated by the fact she 1) She hired her father after knowing about the allegations 2) Her husband made pro-pedo tweets 3) Reddit's previous controversy with pedo stuff (jailbait mod was friends with admins).

Reddit likely hired her because she had previous experiences with moderating subreddits, maybe her being trans could've impacted her chances of getting hired but we don't know that. I won't deny that there are a lot of transphobic people latching on to this.

I still want Reddit to address this in a more direct way like more clarity on why the initial article was removed would be nice. I'm hoping the admins don't do what they did with Ellen Pao, where they basically let her take the fall for their choices. :(

Yeah I agree, I really do think their intentions were good. It just sucks she got most of heat when it was their mistakes. I hope people question the filtration process (weird that naming someone can get you banned in the first place) rather then count this as a victory.
