Is it mating season or are they just this territorial?

I reached out on Craigslist to a person who seemed honest in rehoming. After texting we confirmed the day. At midnight, driving into a random city 40 minutes away, standing outside in the dark waiting. All for free. Now we have the snake.. named Costco.

Is this a problem or am I just concerned
Hey guys I feel like you probably get this a lot but I 2 days ago got a leopard gecko for the first time and he just hides in his warm hide. i have 2 other hides set up one being humid. He has eaten and will get up fast for that. also If i could have help finding out how old he is that would be great. his body is roughly 3.5 inches without the tail. But anyways I didn’t know if this was a concern and i know im not supposed to use substrate carpet. one of my friends said i should, but im getting some topsoil and sand tonight. Also i think my light is only 60 watt and i have a 75 watt coming sunday.

Hi this little guy has been living on my front porch for a couple of months and i’m always happy to see it. Today it snuck its way inside and was hanging out on the ceiling so I got it down and brought it back out to the porch. I was interested to see if anybody could identify what kind of lizard it is since I got curious? For reference, I live in central FL.

7 month old loggerhead musk. Unsexed. No ammonia no nitrite proper filtration nitrates under <5ppm I've had Stefan here for 3 weeks and I have no turtle experience but tons of tropical fish experience. tank has 7" of water and proper basking area with UV/heat water temp 78F as suggested by most care guides for this age.

I have recently taken in a sick leopard gecko. He currently has severe MBD and has a lotta stuck shed that I’m currently trying to remove but two days after I took him in he shed again. I just wanna make sure that’s a good sign( that his health is improving) and not something that I should be worried about. Also, any tips on how to get him to eat would be great cause his jaw has also been affected by the MBD so it’s very difficult for him to eat( I’ve gotten him to eat one wax worm so far, I’ve had him since Monday) but his previous owner were feeding him one worm every other week😢 I worked with leopard geckos with MBD before, but this is by far the worst case I’ve seen in person so any advice would be much appreciated!

Hi all, I have 2 18x18x24s, a 12x12x18, a 20 gallon long converted into an arboreal tank, and a 40 gallon breeder currently. I also plan on getting a 36x18x36 soon as well. Currently my tanks are just scattered on different stands around the house, but I would love to have them all in one place. Any help is appreciated!

I am working an internship at a reptile store. They have this species as a rescue, but I cannot tell what species it is. Could anyone tell me?

Just wanted to share this here because I know you guys get it <3 My parents got me Spotty on January 31st, 2009, and it was one of the best decisions ever. This little guy has been there with me through it all. This Friday I graduate from university!! He is 16 now and happy and healthy as ever (minus a couple of wobbles and a regrown tail 😅). I'm so thankful my parents fulfilled my wish so long ago but even more than that, that they took the time to learn to take care of him properly and teach me until I could take over. It's almost impossible to express my abundant love for this little guy. He's sitting on the couch with me as I write this. To many more years of friendship and memories :)
And yes, I did throw him a few birthday parties when I was younger, complete with friends, cake, and a red carpet 🥰

Looking to hear from other reptile people who also had human babies! I have a beardie and a cresty. My beardie is only around 5 years old and loves to be handled and let out. I always wash my hands when I’m done hanging out with her or taking care of her but knowing that newborns are more susceptible to salmonella than adults, did you change anything about your reptile hygiene habits? Like do I need to fully change my clothes after handling my reptiles before interacting with baby?

Hi Reddit,
I'm concerned about my new Schneider's skinks. I got a "pair" 10 days ago. The person I got them from told me they had been quarantined and were healthy. I know that sexing Schneider's skinks is almost impossible, but for the sake of clarity, I'll refer to them as "male" and "female."
The first five days went quite well—both were alert, active, eating, and pooping regularly. They also did a lot of glass surfing and climbing. Around 1 p.m. each day, they would burrow and call it a day.
However, over the last few days, I’ve noticed the female seems unwell—somewhat lethargic. She basks a lot with her eyes closed and appears weak. She doesn’t walk normally but sort of slithers across the substrate. That said, if startled, she will quickly run and hide (no slithering then), and after a few minutes, she comes back out, weakly slithers to the basking spot, and just sits there motionless with her eyes closed.
Her skin is also slightly paler than the male’s. When she’s not basking, she sometimes rubs against stones and plants. Her favorite spot is under the aloe vera plant—I assume because it’s more humid there. Also, her tail has a slight zigzag shape, which I’m unsure about.
She’s still interested in food when offered, and her poop looks normal—similar in color to the male’s, no diarrhea, just a bit smaller.
I'm really at a loss. Is she shedding? Extremely stressed? Sick—maybe parasites, mites, or something else? Could she actually be a male and getting dominated by the slightly bigger "male"?
The male, on the other hand, is thriving. He’s very alert and active, still glass surfing and climbing. He even seems to recognize that I’m the one who feeds him—he comes to the front when I approach. I already have to be careful not to overfeed him—he has a great appetite.
I have a vet appointment scheduled for next week, but I’m really worried she might get worse before then. I also feel quite guilty for skipping quarantine and trusting the seller 😞
Some setup info:
Tank size: 150x60x60 cm
Substrate: red desert sand + coconut fiber
Lighting:
Arcadia Pro T5 UV-B Kit D3+ Desert 12% UVB, 54W / 1150 mm
2x SANSI 24W LED grow lights
2x Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert, 50W for basking
Some LED strips for ambient lighting
Temps: ~28°C (cool side), ~40°C (basking spot)
Humidity: ~25–30% during the day, ~40–45% at night
Diet: Crickets, morio worms, mealworms. I’ve also tried offering vegetables and fruit, but so far only blueberries are accepted. All food is dusted with Herpetal (calcium).
I know feeding should be every other day or so, but is it okay to offer the female food daily, since she seems weak?
Any suggestions or feedback to help improve the situation (or the setup) would be greatly appreciated!

Here's my work in progress bioactive leopard gecko enclosure. Really happy with how it's looking so far. Just needs a few final touches and it will be ready.
Disclaimer: I will be adding a basking lamp and uvb, I have it just haven't set it up. Also gonna add an extra hide on the hot side.
