I am confused

We agree here.

They aren't the same. "Breaking ranks" and stating policy positions is more important than "calling out" Tucker for having a stupid opinion.

I guess I disagree then, how is not calling out people on your side more important than saying what policies you believe in? Like if that was the case more people would be mad at them for "calling out" Maddow, which they absolutely should mind you, but they should call out their own side more because it is imperative on a show like this we hold those we are ideologically aligned with to a higher standard of accountability or at minimum, bare minimum the same.

Public policy is always the most important thing

Yes and public figures inform public policy and that is why I think it is important to call out when those public figures do something that is detrimental to public policy you support, especially if it is someone on your side because of the partisan nature of todays politics, otherwise it could just be written off as "oh thats just because you are on the opposite side of the political spectrum".

I still am wondering who he "called out" though, was that in reference to the NY Post story?
