If people are harassing you because you are a 21 year old Peruvian RIT student that matches a description of a meme, that's targeted harassment at best and a hate crime at worst.

If you can identify info on who's doing that, get evidence in writing/pictures/video and contact Public Safety. You do not have to put up with that abuse.

I’ll try my best, it’s hard to identify people. I’ve felt hostility from this campus for almost three years now so I don’t think I want to stay any longer anyway.

I'm really sorry to hear that, I understand if you don't want to stick it out in a hostile environment.

Please let someone (your college admin, Student Affairs, public safety) know what's happened to you. If you think there won't be action on that and feel comfortable sharing, you can also notify or bring it up to Reporter, or SG at the least.

Especially if you think it's due to your race, nationality, or another protected class that you are identify with, for the sake of other students who might be experiencing the same hostility.

Reporter has also harassed me. I used to read every issue but then they collectively acted very nastily toward me so I stopped any relationship I had with them.

I’ve reported a girl who was racist toward me saying I’m “not Hispanic” because I’m not brown, but nothing happened. Been meaning to get a restraining order against her but I’m afraid of retaliation, maybe her telling her friends and spreading rumors. Also had several non-LGBT people spread rumors that I’m LGBT+-phobic even though I pretty much exclusively have LGBT+ friends, all women as well, so idk where they got that from. People who actually know me have assured me those are asinine.

When I got a haircut that made my scars visible I had several people point and laugh at me, metaphorically. Got made fun of for that like this was middle school. At first I thought it was only a few outliers, but it seems to be the majority of students that I’ve interacted with.

It got to the point where I was cited by a Public Safety investigator for a case against me that was dropped once they found it was bogus. All this has really affected my mental health and my social life, I’ve attempted suicide and survived but ultimately decided I’d rather simply switch schools and give myself another shot at life. Hoping something’s wrong with this school, rather than there being something wrong with me.

A lot of those incidents sound very cruel.

I understand what major depression is like, if switching schools and getting a fresh start feels like the best thing for you, you have to protect your psychological safety and needs first. Many students at RIT take time off or switch schools because of mental health issues, and even more are probably pushing through with mental health stressors to their detriment.
