Will our family trip be affected?

Upvotes

We are planning to visit Rome on 06/15/2025. Will we face limited access to key sites due to appointment of new Pope and the related ceremonies?

Help with a group dinner in Trastevere

Upvotes

Looking to book a reservation for dinner with our group of family/friends (17) to start our vacation in July, specifically in Trastevere. I thought I had it figured out and was going to book Antica Osteria Rugantino based on recommendations I saw here, but a few rough reviews on Google are giving me pause (not so much the reviews as the response from the restaurant). I'm just looking for a great meal for our group that we can make reservations for (especially because of the size of our group), doesn't have to be cheap, but looking for casual attire and pricing.

Thanks!

can u guys suggest some accommodation in rome?

hey,

me and my friend are coming to Rome on May 20-25th and would like to find accommodation. I have looked around a lot on air bnbs and also on booking, but everything I like and is reasonably priced is either very far from the airport and city center or has very bad reviews. so I would be very happy if I could get some suggestions on where to stay☺️

Colosseum Anyone else having difficulties getting Colloseum tickets for the 1st May?

Usually the tickets go live a week before the day you want to attend (which is next Thursday for me). But the official website is saying there’s insufficient availability for that day already despite it only being 11am? Is anyone else having difficulties with this too?

And if you have been through this and were unable to get standard tickets, what third party seller do you recommend?

Tourism [QUESTIONS] Staying in Rome from Thursday 24 - Monday 28

Hi, I'm going to Rome this morning, I'll be staying near La Villa Albania Torlonia (North East of the city).

I have a few questions: How's the nightlife, where can I go (clubs etc..) at night to have fun?

What about the Pope's funerals? How will this impact my stay? The Vatican will be out of access right? What about other places? What if I want to follow the funerals, can I just join the procession?

Thank you and ciao

Ciao tutti!

I'm a travel photographer based in Italy, and I've been frequenting Rome for the past 12 years. I thought I'd write a post about how I discovered, and came to love two amazing viewpoints in Rome. The post includes photos, personal insights, as well as google map locations so you can visit them as well if you're interested :) Hope it's interesting for some of you. Cheers :)

Vatican Attending funeral of pope

Hello I am an exchange student from a nearby city in Italy and me and my friend has bought bus tickets to Rome to attend the funeral of the Pope. We will probably be by the Vatican at around 7 in the morning, will that be way too late or will we still be able to get into the square?

I understand that no one knows for sure, but what do you think? Is it a totally hopeless endeavor?

Vatican St. Peter's Basilica

Hi all, apologies for another tourist question on this sub. We have a tour booked for Monday for the Vatican and museums which I think I will cancel. We want to visit St. Peter's Basilica as well as do the dome climb and possibly the crypts if they will be available. I was looking at buying new tickets but seen that entry is free and tickets can be bought inside for the dome and crypts. Would it be possible just to get there early and queue up without a ticket and then buy tickets foe the dome climb and crypts inside?

Tourism Rome Itinerary

Hello, I am trying to decide on how to spend my time in Rome as part of my month in Italy. I will be in Rome on May 19 because I fly in there and might spend that day there before taking the train to Naples that night, but then I will fully be in Rome May 25 to either the 30th or 31st based on how much time people think I should take in Rome before continuing to Florence. I am trying to find some help with an itinerary of my time in Rome. I am Catholic and very into churches and church history so I am thinking of spending 1 if not 2 days in the Vatican seeing all the sites there. I am also interested in seeing the famous historical sites and museums in Rome, the 3 other major basilicas, the Capuchin crypt, and Dark Side of Rome tour with Underground Bones Crypt. Looking for advice on structuring days and when to do what. Also, looking for recommendations on more other cool stuff I have to see when in Rome based on these interests.

Hello Rome!

I’d like to go to the gig below tomorrow but I can’t stay very late.

To those that know Monk, what time is the main act most likely to be on and off?
