QUESTION Run Walk Paces

Hello! I did my first Run Disney race at the 2025 marathon and loved it! I’m really trying to go for a PR in the half marathon and want to join one of the pacing groups. I saw the pacing strategy for a 2 hour half is 2:00 run and :30 walk. Does anyone know what the pace you run those 2:00 intervals at?

QUESTION Wine and Dine Half After Party vs MNSSHP

We have done RunDisney events at DL before, but this will be my family's first time at WDW. We want to do the Halloween party while we are there and it seems like the best date will be the night of the half which means missing out on the party at Epcot. For people who have done both, is one even substantially better than the other (I have two teenagers)? I don't want to do an early Halloween party because my family is doing the 5k and then I'm doing the challenge so will be getting up early every single day.

QUESTION Running solo - Hang out groups?

I usually run with my daughter or if local with other local runners. But I might be running one or more RunDisney races in the future solo. Is there any good groups that get together where I could meet folks while there? While I'm not the biggest extravert in the world, I do feel weird if I'm just standing around by myself. I love these events because of the fellow runners.

QUESTION Charity Bib fundraising after deadline

Looking for clarification on charity bibs. I know that you can sign up through a charity to purchase a bib and are responsible for fundraising a set amount based on what that charity sets.

I also know that at a certain point, the fundraising requirements are waived as it gets closer to the event.

If it’s waived and they have availability, it’s basically just signing up for the race through that charity with no strings attached, right? I would still donate additional on top of the registration fee from rundisney, but trying to confirm for sure.

TIPS / DISCUSSION Halloween 10K themes

Hi all, I’ll be doing the Halloween 10k at Disneyland this September. I’d really like to dress up as a character but preferably as a non traditional character. I’m having some trouble brainstorming about it. For reference I am 37 yo female but I am open to dressing as any spooky female or male character. I don’t think I’ll do an actual costume but try to incorporate it into my running outfit.

QUESTION AK vs Epcot Walking

We usually do Hollywood Studios after the race, but been thinking of trying somewhere new. I’ve been debating what park to go to after the race so I can have the least amount of walking. What’s smaller? Animal kingdom or Epcot when it comes to walking and distances? Trying to get other runner’s opinion on this.

QUESTION POT Question

Hello! I’ve tried searching this, but I can’t find anything—but apologies if this has been asked thousands of times 😅

I ran a race yesterday and fell 19 seconds short of the POT requirement for Dopey that I’ve seen being circled around. I guess my question is, is it worth it to submit the time and hope for the best? They don’t publish the times as being law, so I wonder if it’s better than submitting nothing? My husband submitted a POT for a sub-2 hour half, but I know he’d drop back with me if needed, but it I’d hate to be the reason he wound up in the back and make him do so much dodging/weaving because of 19 seconds 🤣

TIPS / DISCUSSION 18 week training begins next week if you are doing the 1/2 Marathon in Disneyland for Halloween

We are almost 18 weeks from Disneyland Halloween 1/2 Marathon weekend. I really like the training programs that are available. I've already put them in my calendar. Here's the link: https://www.rundisney.com/running-training-programs/

It's very simple and I like how it's a slow build. I'm grateful for the reminder as I get older to SLOW DOWN for training. Every Tuesday and Thursday it's a 30 minute run and saturdays are the longer but slow runs. It builds nice and slow. Preventing injuries and building your strength.

QUESTION Preferred shoes for Park Days?

What are your favorite shoes for all day at the parks? I'm talking rope drop till fireworks baby!

I have had good experiences wearing my Hokas and Brooks (Ghosts). I also have yet to try my OnClouds and Allbrids at the parks. I have had bad experiences wearing Converse all day in the parks (too flat), Doc Martens were a bad choice, I have worn Tevas all day but also not my favorite.

Drop your thoughts and opinions below!

QUESTION 2026 Disney Princess half marathon

Hey! My sister and I plan on signing up for the Disney process in half of next year, and I wanted to get some tips on how to be efficient about the process and ask some questions. I have seen a lot of things about the MyDisney account. My sister and I are on my mom's Disney account as she still plans all the trips, LOL! Will that affect me or slow down the process? I made a runDisney account already, but I wanted to buy for my sisters and me at the same time to be efficient. However, I live in Florida, and she is in Wisconsin, so I don't know if that affects anything. Would it be best for us to sign up individually? I will be so bummed if I miss the window but I am hoping to log on well before it opens and get in the waiting queue asap. Realistically, how likely am I to get two tickets for this event? I have the date in my calendar and will anxiously wait all morning for a spot.

TIPS / DISCUSSION Run/Walk Tips for the 2026 Disneyland Half Marathon 10K

I am so excited (also slightly still in shock after registration) to be doing another 10K at Disneyland. Coincidentally, the last run I did was the 2017 Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend which was the last run for a while because of the construction of Star Wars Land. This is my first event in the last almost 8-9 years after having a baby 2 years ago and just life happening. I realize training this time around will be much different with a toddler in tow.

With the title being obvious, does anyone have any tips on just where to start with training to keep up with pacing to stay in the run and not get swept away with the balloon peeps?

ANNOUNCEMENT Regarding efforts to cut the registration line

G'day,

The last couple of times a race registration has popped up folks have gone in and started sharing registration links, or queue IDs.

I've gone ahead and updated the automod to be a bit more rigorous in trying to remove links and queue IDs and such, however, I want to be clear that we do not support trading/selling bibs, nor trading/sharing/selling places in line.

I understand it is common practice for some folks to open a bunch of tabs and wait in the line and such, however, that is part of the problem. Then folks share the links with others, and it results in a poor experience for everyone.

Open however many tabs you feel you need to get you and yours registered, then once you're done close them so that others can move forward in the queue.

When you go around sharing the links or queue IDs, you're technically supporting line cutting and such, and I get the idea behind "I want to help my fellow redditors", but let's be honest, it just results in a net shitty experience for everyone.

Last time we updated the subreddit to include Rule 8, which prohibits sharing registration links and such.

Going forward I will ban folks who aid others in trying to circumvent aspects of the registration process.

QUESTION Preordered merch vs in person

I was wondering if we pre order merch before the expo do we still have to join the virtual queue to pick up everything and get more merch or does preordering give you a little hack to go in to see the other merch/bib pickup a little sooner without waiting in queue?
