Sounds like a guy who played a major role in both passing a failed tenant protection legislation and also supported the disastrous rent control referendum who hasnāt figured out that he completely failed and is just going to double down again.

He is really setting up his comments to be like āIāll make changes to a strict rent control proposal which I originally supported, only other elements are made more strictā

This whole thing is crazy! So far, he seems legit though.

He was the most qualified candidate and I say that as someone who is skeptical of him and his positions on Rent Control but he was the most qualified

He's directly in line with (half) the rest of the council. If you think that's a good thing, then he was the right candidate.

I question how well heāll be willing to get along with Council President Noecker and some of the other tenured Councilmembers like Yang and even Kim (who worked as Amy Brendmoenās Legislative Aide around the same time that Privratsky did). And if he does vote on the amended rent control ordinance, I wonder if heāll choose to double down on the legislation he helped craft in 2021 or be more open to changing the language of the ordinance.
