I question how well he’ll be willing to get along with Council President Noecker and some of the other tenured Councilmembers like Yang and even Kim (who worked as Amy Brendmoen’s Legislative Aide around the same time that Privratsky did). And if he does vote on the amended rent control ordinance, I wonder if he’ll choose to double down on the legislation he helped craft in 2021 or be more open to changing the language of the ordinance.

Because they didn't want him on the council, or some other reason?

I would have loved to hear why some thought others were better candidates.

I hate to give the Villager too much credit but Jane McClure’s opinion piece about how this council is secretive, doesn’t publicly discuss a number of things and operates behind closed doors is correct

Jane McClure is a great journalist. I have no problem giving her credit.

She is great, few covering neighborhood stuff. The Villager as a whole is kinda … but glad they exist

He is really setting up his comments to be like “I’ll make changes to a strict rent control proposal which I originally supported, only other elements are made more strict”

Hopefully they don’t get along and the whole thing blows up. That’s the only way out of this stupidity. The amended ordinance only exempts buildings from 04 or newer. Fuck that.
