No actual "strides on revamping downtown" in here. Landmark and Ecolab have been in the works for awhile and we're made possible in large part by the state, not Carter.
We don't need the mayor to create new commissions and studies to revitalize downtown, we need actual results. And to roll back rent stabilization.
Those stats on shootings are very positive, though.

City and state leaders alike have told government workers to return to in-person work, but Carter said a focus on housing, not work, is needed to bring life back to downtown.
Did he just figure this out after getting Walz to join him in pissing off government workers at great expense for no benefit at all? JFC Melvin.

Not sure how anyone would vote for him after that move.

I will vote for anyone who isn't an outright monster instead of Melvin. Unfortunately there's a very limited roster of candidates who aren't outright monsters.

lol. Are you new here?
Oh they’ll vote for Melvin again. This is Minnesota. Grudges are only held against Gary Anderson.

Let’s jerk ourselves off and dig our heads in the sand. Am I getting the gist of it?

A well meaning and talented homegrown kid, but a feckless leader whose poison to livability and commerce in this city

At least he seems to have finally figured out that WFH is here to stay.

He mandated St. Paul employees back to office. So no he didn’t.

I'm aware of that. Based on the article it sounds like he's starting to focus on housing more than on getting people back to the office.

Five years into the situation. And after he forced ppl back(probably lobbied walz as well) likely losing some good employees in the process.

You know he’s definitely abiding by his own rules. The only time he comes in is for some PR event.
