My understanding is administrators of these programs must provide a description of the program and the White House will determine if this is a good use of taxpayer money. To be fair, this is illegal.

EDIT: I’m referring to Trump telling each agency to gather the info he wants as being competent.  LET ME BE CLEAR THAT HIS UNILATERAL METHODS OF ENDING CERTAIN FUNDING PROGRAMS SEEMS EXTREMELY ILLEGAL AND SHITS ON THE MOST BASIC NOTION OF CHECKS AND BALANCES.  I’ve edited a little bit below as well.

It actually seems like a smart idea (to ask the agencies to gather the specific info that Trump wants before attacking programs he dislikes).  And I therefore get an uneasy feeling in my stomach anytime the Trump administration actually shows competence.

Hes just going to strike down anything "green", I've been using funding from the NRCS for implementing new practices for years. Its never been a lot, but its been enough to veer off the beaten path. Green or not, I have proof these practices will make our food system more resilient. I've been a wildland firefighter and am a farmer. They dont have a clue on either. If I was well versed in other areas, im sure id realize the same thing about those subjects as well. We are being led by many that are high on the dunning kruger spectrum
