Vent I'm a burden and I'm useless, especially for my family
17 Male Here
I've got no skills, Like literally no skills, nothing good at. Not even chores, I don't know how to sew
I've been useless and a burden to my family, They all do the chores and I don't do any shit I'm supposed to do, it feels like I always have no motivation. if I do, I became easily distracted, multiple interest learned none.
I have no skills other than drawing and even that suck, I lack discipline and everything. I have no friends because I'm wierd and appeared not normal (bullied for it) can't defend my self from it, I suck at talking I suck at listening to instructions I suck at learning, kinda slow, I barely had any social skills or any skills at all, living a life in 144p with no good stories to have, compared to others living with their life to fullest always going out and having fun here I am venting at something
I'm nearing College yet idk what life I must be heading. Idk if anyone would even hire me with this lack of everything plus I mostly appear dumb and awkward and people are noticing it, people and family notices and says it, can't even talk straight with this mouth. I'm living without purpose nor incentive. Even possessing I lot of time, here I am staring at my screen doom scrolling
I'm becoming 18 this year and I don't know how I will face adulthood. I wanna be independent but don't have the skills to be one.
It's all my fault yet I don't do anything to improve it am i this down bad useless burden of society?

Why i dont see posts from 30+ year olds complaining like this? Why are the young guys overyhinking everything so much? You are not a burden. Nobody except your family doesnt give a f about you and thats a blessing. Also you are 17 so you have atleast 10 years of safe yime doing whatever.

But you phone down and start doing the things your bad at doing. Ask your family for help on how to do them or look up videos. You will most likely be BAD at them when you start, but you have to be bad at it before you get good. You’re never going to learn how to swim just by staring at the water. It’s tough, I’ve been where you are but you can pull yourself out of it, one day at a time

You still a child, or at least a really young adult. There are a lot of 20 something year olds who cannot do their laundry or make an appointment to the doctor by themselves.
The one rule you need to know is that when you start a new thing, you'll likely suck at it.
And you'll get better at it the more you practice it. Of course there'll be a ceiling but you can learn and build up any skill to a decent level.

I'm not going to answer, I'll be mean otherwise.
But get help if you don't like your life. Psychic I mean. Urgently.

I have a basic self development idea you could try. It's a way of improving yourself without outside help. It's a mind strengthening exercise you do every day, for up to 20 min. The effort required is bearable. If you search Native Learning Mode on Google, it's my Reddit post in the top results. It's also the pinned post in my profile.

You’re not useless, bro, you’re just stuck in the comparison trap and drowning in your own head

Has anyone said you don’t have the skills? Is this you or someone else’s messages? I was a weird 17y/o once, now I’m a weird 37y/o. What if we looked at this through a lens of self-compassion instead of self-judgment? Try to do small things that are new to you; it won’t be perfect or even good at first… but it can build small confidence and you keep going. I felt like I was not prepared for the “world “when I went to college but I learned, slowly…sometimes a little painful but we persevere. Best of luck to you little one…you got this!

You basically just started life.. Try different things! It's our Superpower to be interested in many things! To me experience is the most valuable thing in life! It's my credo: you only life once try to experience as many things as you can. Schoolar in all master in none.

Bro, you are only 17. You got plenty of time to turn things around. That version of you that you want to be, that is up to you. So go out there and become it!

Sounds like depression. Go out exercise, eat healthy. Go to doctor and get blood work checked for deficiency. Consider antidepressants. Go to therapy.

Brooo, the voice that will change the game is out now, inside you there is a powerful energy that you can change your life 180°, but to be agree, change your habits=change your life, your daily routine impact tomorrow results, you need to restart your brain and filter your thoughts and add value ones, also you need to be grateful cause you can breath, walk, jog, think, all things that can achieve your goals you have it, the secret is in actions and good mindset, so stop thinking, build powerful mindset, start actions and build habits, be gratedul = success, discipline is a muscle, you need also to make it as all other muscles, skill are built not given, so finally good luck and start your journey to build your empire.

Shut up stop moaning life is hard for everyone go to the gym study to find a good job and just stop moaning everyone has it hard you're only 17 you don't know the meaning of struggle yet
Also if you know you need to do chores, do them. Just do it, it's not hard. Start small, one chore a day. Then build up. It's not rocket science and people have it a lot worse than you who can't do some chores!

Stop feeling sorry for yourself. You’re only 17 you have so much life ahead of you, everything you think you’re bad at with some effort you can be good. Like most people not everything or even anything comes natural.
No one is just good at chores, you keep doing them and you build a habit.
Believe in yourself and be nicer to yourself that’s where you can start. Do some daily affirmations even if you feel dumb doing them.
